lets see if i understand this correctly.
the directory needs to be c:/songs/(game)/(song)
correct? if i did that right, maybe its that i'm using the DVDRWs and need to get some DVDRs. one good thing did come out of this experimenting though, i only used one DVDRW |

ok, so i just finished repacking my disc , burnt it and tested it out.
Game booted fine go to the song wheel and nothing that i added in are in the game, only the original songs. Did i miss a step or do something wrong?
update: i used the wrong PCK folder. Re-burnt with the correct one and now i have a new problem
the songs i added were there (just added the ITG2 songs) but as soon as i scroll to one of the added songs the game freezes. How can i fix this _________________

will it work without backgrounds and banners?
also, is it possible to just host 48KHz ogg versions of the ITG2 songs themselves <_<
3rd attempt: game did not even boot _________________

Ok, I dragged a .pck file onto the Un-Pck but I have no clue where they went. What is the file extension of these files when they are extracted so I can do a search on my computer? I assume it's .ogg, but I'm not that sure. _________________

If I'm following the directions correctly then I should be seeing what I'm supposed to be seeing and I'm not. When I drag a .av file into UnAV and then rename that file with the .avi extension, I get an avi file with no sound or video. What am I doing wrong? _________________

you drag the .av file into unav
you get a 1.out and a 2.out
1.out is raw audio; keep on following the instructions to find out how to convert it to wav and later mp3; or you can open it in audacity using the 'import raw data' option and convert it to mp3, ogg, or wav there
2.out is the movie. rename to .avi and it should play fine in most video players, including stepmania. |

Ok, so when I drag the .av file into UnAV, I'm supposed to get two files? I thought that UnAV just tells you how many files are in the .av you put in UnAV. And then after that, you take the same .av file you dragged and rename it to the song that it's supposed to be. That's what I got from the directions on the read me file. I assume I'm doing something entirely wrong. _________________

I need some help or suggestions. Im using a JAP PS2, swap magic 3.6 (jap version) with a slide card.
-Ive converted all my sims to .SM format.
-All mp3's to .ogg at 48khz
-all banners and BG's to the correct size and .PNG format.
All im trying to do is add my own songs, the majority of ITG2, Songs from stepmania sim packs (keyboard mega pack, collab, community etc...) and a few of my freinds sims. Over all added song count is 137, and then the ITG1 songs that are already there. I copied all the PCK files from my ITGps2 copy, deleted the existing IDX. I also Cached all my songs and banners with the stepmania 4.0 cahe generator provided in opengroove's tutorial. I ran PCKsuite, and packed all the songs and cache together and placed the PCK file in my PCKS directory with the rest of the ITG1 PCKS. I ran the IDX generator and created the file need, and doublechecked it with notepad to make sure it added the new PCK file I created. Did the IML generator, made sure all files were in the right order, converted it to ISO, and then burned using Alcohol120%.
- First disk didnt even boot.
-Second disc, double checked everything, all in order everything correct. Disc only booted using specail boot, and froze on the "Now Loading.." screen before the game even boots to the Roxor logo.
-Third Disc, Triple checked everything, all in order, all files correct. Disc would boot using Normal boot and specail boot, but both froze on the same screen as the second disc.
The only thing I really noticed was that there was a Thumbs.db file in each song folder. On the third attempt I tried deleting all of them, but I think I missed like two. Do the thumbs.db files have anything to do with the disc not booting correctly when it first tries to load the songs? _________________

Thumb.db shouldn't do anything.
I'd say maybe delete the ITG1 songs for now and see what happens? I can remember some people having problems until they deleted those songs back when PCKSuite first came out. |

Am I looking for those two files? What folder do these files output to? I'm trying to look for the audio and/or video. _________________

Alrighty, ill try deleting the ITG1 PCKS and burn a copy like that, then if it works correctly then ill most likely go back and add the ITG1 songs from my stepmania like I added the custom songs, because I actually would like to keep most of the ITG1 songs. _________________

Double post-
Took out the existing ITG1 hacks, disc loaded properly and all songs were on the song wheel in normal dance mode. The song wheel was really skippy, but at this point I dont really care. That was just a test disc.
***EDIT***
-ITGPS2 Hack fully completed, with ITG1, ITG2 (most), Simfiles my freind made, and About 60 to 80 keyboard/stepmania sims. Overall a little over 200. Everything is synced correctly =] really happy bout this.
-Tried the Hax edition theme that Kalek posted over on ITGfreak, and like he said, horrible loading times, and my PS2 sounded funny when it was loading = [
Gonna get started on packing the hax edition theme in roxor's format possibly within the next couple of days so there will be a good copy of the theme. Although if someone is already working on that, let me know so I dont do 3 or days of packing files. _________________

Just put your songs in the C drive like the guide says, and then when you run the packer just choose the hole "songs" folder. _________________
