So pretty much; I called cobaltFlux today.

We had a nice chat about my pad and they told me a few key points

My pad is complete and ready to be shipped
The control boxes will not ship for a few weeks.

I went along and asked if the pad could be shipped first, and they agreed.
Hooray!

And if anyone cares, I ordered on march 23rd.

Do you guys think that Cobalt Flux's commercial lines are taking the priority and this is why they are neglecting their home pads?

Why would you say neglecting?

Well.... We'll see about this so called "poor shipment" of CF's soon enough.

My flux arrives on the 10th and my friend is letting me borrow her cbox.

I would say neglecting because the quality of the pads seem to have declined, they don't seem to give a shi* that their forums are down, and the pads are taking forever to be sent to purchasers. The commercial pads cost a lot more than the home pads so I could see why these would be their priority.

Okay, How to Clean Your Cobalt Flux (From Memory Edition), by Emptyeye, with thanks to MadTaco on the CF forums. This is a pretty involved process, so I only clean mine about every three months or so.

You're gonna need:
-A sponge
-A Philips Head Screwdriver
-Dishwashing Detergent (EDIT 5/11/07- By this, I mean the liquid stuff you'd use to handwash dishes, NOT the powder/gel/whatever you'd put into a dishwasher)
-Two small containers
-Water
-Paper towels. Lots of them.
-Compressed Air (Optional)

First, the prepwork
-Pour the water (Warm, NOT hot) into the containers.
-Pour some dishwashing detergent into one of the containers, and stir it.
-Finally, lay a paper towel or two down on the floor before starting; we'll be putting the sponge down on top of it when it's not in use.

Okay, let's get disassembling!
-Unscrew the top-left panel and the bracket that holds it down. Remove the top layer, be it the lexan on an an unmodded/clear-and-smooth Flux, or whatever it is the black-and-textured mod is made out of, as well as the bracket. Set them down somewhere.
-IMPORTANT! Place these pieces some place where you'll easily be able to determine how they reassemble. What I like to do is place the screws down on the floor as though they were still in the pad and lay the panel/bracket on top of them, somewhere in the vicinity of the pad.
-Unscrew the rest of the panels and place them around in a similar fashion to the top-left one.

Almost Ready to Clean...
-You should now be able to remove the stickers from their panels (The button and arrow stickers. Whether you WANT to do this is up to you, I'm merely pointing this out to show where you should be in the process); if you have the black-and-textured mod, your corners should just look like sheets of metal.
-We're gonna start picking up these sheets of metal, now. Take your top-left one and forcefully but carefully remove it from the velcro beneath it. In all, you'll be disengaging it from four velcro circles, one on each corner of the panel.
-Turn the panel around so you're looking at its underside and lay it down on an adjacent panel. Careful of the wire sticking out from one of the velcro circles; that's part of the circuit made when you step. Truthfully, which panel you place this piece on will be largely determined by where you can put it while not putting tension on this wire.

WHAT!? Dirt!? There's No Way That Can Be Right!
-Actually, this being a corner panel, there will probably be some, but not a whole lot of, caked on dirt both on the underside of the panel and on the metal base it velcros to. This is where our sponge comes in.
-Take the sponge and dip it in the detergent water. Get it damp, but not soaking wet.
-Scrub off the dirt on the metal base and the underside of the panel. You'll want to rub vigorously, but not super hard--just hard enough to get off the caked-on stuff.
-You'll probably also notice some discoloration of the metal base. This is normal, and there's nothing you can do about it.
-Now take some of your paper towels and dry off the panel and base. Again, rub firmly, but not super hard.
-Rinse your sponge off in the non-detergented water. This is also where you'll want to squeeze out any excess water when you dip the sponge in the detergented water.
-Repeat this process for each of your eight outer panels. The center panel has cardboard underneath it; you don't have to do anything with the center panel unless you use your Flux to play Pump it Up. You'll probably note that te arrow panels have far more caked on dirt than the corner ones, which makes sense.
-OPTIONAL: Take your compressed air and blow it into the between panel cracks. Again, this is an optional step, but if you really want to complete the job, do it. I personally don't.

The Waiting Game
-Let the pad dry off for 30 minutes to an hour to let any excess moisture evaporate.

Reassembly
-This is the most annoying step in my opinion. Place the metal parts of the panels back in their original orientations. Now comes the hard part. One panel at a time, take the lexan that was on top of the arrow panels and place it on top, and screw everything back down. You'll find that lining everything up with the screwhole is really hard, at least at first. Just keep at it and you'll get it eventually. DO NOT use a drill for this, as that's an excellent way to strip the screw holes.
-Repeat the process for the corner panels and brackets.
-You're done! Your Flux should now work as good as new.

Important Notes
-For awhile after you clean your Flux, you may notice a "crunch crunch" sound when you play. This is normal; it's just the velcro resettling.
-DO NOT USE STEEL WOOL OR A SIMILAR PRODUCT FOR CLEANING!! What happens with these products is that little bits of the wool come off and get on the pad. This completes the step-circuit and generally causes your pad to go spastic. Not a good thing.

Whew! I think that's everything, let me know if there are any questions.

You are aware that:

A replacement forum is up. http://cobaltflux.20.forumer.com/

The reason the pads are taking forever is lack of materals and due to the fact that many orders have racked up while they were out of stock.

The bad shipment of pads was a mistake on their part for ordering different parts in order to complete their orders. They obviously learned their lesson as theyre playing it safe by waiting for the original parts right now.

My official cobalt flux review.

It arrived.... today at about 1:00.

Getting on... I opened it to find a snow storm blew in. The foam padding crumbled and sent little beads of it into the pad itself... no biggie...

But on further inspection, it was missing a screw on the corner... Is that right? Whatever... I screwed in a replacement...

OMG. IT CAME WITH A CBOX? I love you cobalt flux<3
(The told me they ran out of cboxes)

NOw moving on the the game play. I was hitting up my usualy songs i played on my foam pad and it was pretty good. I had some trouble adapting to the foreign metal pad feel but i felt like i did my songs justice.

Any misses were my mistake; I didnt notice any random streams of them(so far at least)

Pretty good..

I give it 9/10 solely based on the missing screw. Unacceptable.

Yea, I plugged in my username and password, and said it was inactive. Are you a moderator at that site now? 'Cause if you could do that for me, that would be great. thumb.gif

Actually, I'm an admin. I made the new boards when the old ones got over-spambotted. Anyway, I'll go activate you now.

EDIT: It said that there was no one there with thier username as Fred 00. What is your username?

That'd be much easier, since it seems to think that you don't exist.

I play there all the time, it's how I do fast streams. I've tried fast streams flatfooting, and I failed really quickly.
