I was thinking of building another homepad, but with arcade sensors instead of sheet metal. I found the kits on mymybox (link) and was wondering if anyone could give me feedback on how these would be used, how I would connect them, etc... or if it would even be worth it.

Definately go with the sensors, IMO, very sensitive amd will do the job just fine.

Does anyone know how I would go about connecting them?

I just sniped off the connector, and soldered the respective arrow and common wires to the wires on the sensor.

Eh, I decided to make my own. I'm re-constructing my homebuilt pad and decided to go for bracket sensors instead of sheet metal. It looks something like this except the brackets are in an "L" shape so the corners click when they're stepped on. It works great, actually.

well whatever works, i would think that the sheet metal contacts method would be more effective, though.

The problem with the sheet metal contacts is that I would constantly have to replace the weatherstripping (I played on my pad - a lot). Plus it wasn't very sensitive to freeze arrows or hands. The ones I'm experimenting with now are super-sensitive.

I think you got it right on with the picture you linked. that looks way more effective than even arcade sensors (which would need some sort of mounting method) since the pressure is easily tweaked by changing (or replacing) whatever is between those plates. sheet metal sensors are bad only because they need to be cleaned every month or less, in the configuration rush12 mentioned being that the whole plate is the contact.

EDIT:
how is the mymybox purchase worth it for over $50 per arrow, only getting 2 sensors at that?
