its the converter, you need to either somehow change the modes (usually by holding start or some combination of buttons) or if the converter can't change modes, then you need to get a new one.

P.S. Did you buy from Radio Shack?

Don't.

The converter came with the pads, i have another Super Joy box that worked with my old Foam pads that i could use ( but is currently at a friends house), but another question its not the ps2 control right? since im not sure if they are able to register those types of arrows?

It's not the ps2 control boxes.

It's the adapter. Do what trob said and hold Select+Start+Up for 5 seconds and then remap in StepMania. Did it make a difference? If it didn't, get a different adapter.

A DualShock 2 has no axis programming; it won't register opposite d-buttons at once.

I'd suggest you rewire it to different buttons. If you want to be able to use it with a PS2 as well as your PC, wire it to X, O, A (tri) , and [] (square).

If you do that, it will work with any converter, so even if the converter is the source of the problem, it'll still be solved. Make sure controller mode is on when using the PS2 if you do this. Also, make sure to wire something up to the D-pad for selecting stuff.

If not select + start + up for five seconds, go into your computer's control panel, and go into Controller Options. find your device, and if there is an option for "Dance Pad Mode," like the Super Joy Box Pros have, then enable it.

Using this topic for my own problem riiight.gif
It's basicly the same thing, combo of same axis won't register. What bugs me is that it's supposed to work, as BNS USA is telling me E19.gif

http://www.buynshop.com/productinfophp3/VG-PS-USB2X1

Anyone got that thing working ? (mine's black, as opposed to the clear one shown on their site)

When exactly am I supposed to make the start/up/select thing ?
doesn't change anything for me disgust.gif

Alllrighty, it looks to be the same as the SuperJoyBox Pro (in terms of DDR support and general design), but that may be irrelivant to this piece of advice:

Go into Start -> Control Panel and select game controllers. Find your adapter and select properties. There should be a "Dance Pad" mode, or something like that. Select it, and the Up + Down and Left + Right should work just fine.

That's the problem, all I get in the controller panel is a "Twin USB Joystick", being named 2 times

I can't change anything from there E19.gif
