almost guys, R23 cuts out ranging from 2mins dead on to 2:30, depending on the machine and how it feels that day. it only counts steps that appear, so anything after the cutoff doesnt matter. unfortunately, that's what I have to deal with. _________________

With the OGG patch the limit of the song is cut off directly at 5mb. so 5x1024 kb = .. 5120 kb. Keep it safe at about 5119kb if it's that big It allows low quality songs to be around 11 minutes. I've actually got a soundless file that runs for about an hour at a pretty low amount of mb. So, I'm going to go machine hog later at our local movie theatre
(I probably won't, but it'd be pretty fun) _________________

yes, the 5MB limit stands on ALL machines. I've had this issue on several cases (and I also need to reconvert one right now). just reconvert at a lower bitrate, and you're good to go.
also note: any song longer than around 5 or 6 minutes has very bad audio quality. as in, its barely playable its so bad. I don't know exact values, but keep it well under 5 MB unless you want to push the 5 or 6 minute mark for a file. _________________

Hey guys I have a tiny problem. Well Ive been putting some songs on a card for R21 (.ogg) and they have been very quiet when played way quieter than the ITG songs. Is there a way to raise the volume on the songs before external sources get to them? I just cant find the way or the program. Thanks in advance. |

well i use Allok Mp3 to AMR converter which converts to .ogg files and u can change the audio in there but the thing is, u gotta download the trial and find a keygen, at least thats what i did _________________

Find a program called Goldwave Audio Editor (find version 5), and figure it all out in there. plus, it can save directly to .ogg, which is a HUGE plus. i've used it for just that on several occasions, and it worked awesome. _________________

on a somewhat different, but related topic (r23) has anyone gotten BGscripts to work? I have a few songs with videos i'd like to use, but the default script from stepmania didnt register on the r23 file for some reason. massive thanks if you have anything productive to add to this thought. _________________

Background images/videos absolutely will not work. They're completely disabled on R21+. _________________

Wait. I can download R21 to a USB and take it to my arcade and (with consent of owner) update it? It's that easy? _________________

Yes, you just need to get to the operator menu, install the patch and then turn the option to on for custom songs. _________________

nevermind, it doesn't say on the machine update page anything about bgscripting being enabled.

How come when i create steps for a song, when i put it on the machine, it is TERRIBLY off sync? Like by a whole measure or so. But when i play it at home on ITG2PC it's fine? (this question was probably asked, and i am really dumb/blind for not noticing, cause i just looked around for any similar topic...) Also, if i download a custom song, there are no difficulties??? This only occurs if i make the steps myself. _________________

use stepmania to check files before playing in the arcade, not ITGPC. any version will work for what you want to do. 3.9 could be best, CVS is requred to make rolls work, however. _________________

Nah, you don't need CVS. You can simply create them as freeze arrows. Then, open the .edit file in notepad and change the 2s (indicating the beginning of a freeze arrow) to 4s (indicating the beginning of a roll). _________________
