|
|
Hey everyone,
Im looking to make a DDR pad from an Xbox controller to play my old games and was wondering if I could make it compatable with an Xbox 360 to play the newer games. Is this even possible? I've read that I could wire an Xbox controller to a USB wire so I could put it on my computer, but would it work with the 360 since the wird controllers are used by USB's? Thanks |

Yea, but I would like to play old games, as well as the new ones. I know there is only one game on the 360, but are they going to make anymore? And what games would you suggest to be best on the regular Xbox? I guess I can always wire both controllers to the Pad, but there goes another controller If I happen not to make a Pad with both controllers, which one would you suggest I make it out of: Xbox, or 360? |

I thought it was Backward Compatable too!! I have tried looking to see if it was possible to play them on the 360, but its not... I guess I'll just go with the regular Xbox cause I dont know if there gonna make anymore for the 360. Thanks anyways |

The XBox 360 is only backwards-compatible with games that Microsoft's specifically chosen to support. AFAIK, this doesn't include any version of DDR. |

not to get too far off topic, but I think the reasons go something like this:
1) when someone sells you a pad, they are charging you for labor + probably a 100% markup for profit, so a pad you pay $200 for might only include $50 of material. If you make your own you get more pad for your buck.
2) if you make your own you have a much better chance of being able to repair it if something goes wrong, since you know it inside out.
3) you can make it completely customized to your liking with different arrow graphics, lights, surface finishes etc.
4) it's fun and rewarding and makes people oooo and ahhh.
that said, it can also be very frustrating, expensive and time consuming if you don't know what you're getting into. a lot of people (myself included) have spent a lot of money building pads that ended up in the trash. _________________

also, you can customize the sensors to real arcade sensors if you wanted.
again, repairing is really easy, mine is almost arcade-perfect
every *bought* metal pad (TX-something, ION, red octane metal pad, even 3 different cobalt fluxes) have NOT been as good as my homemade pad.
the only problem is tweaking my pad, but i think its well worth the tradeoff _________________
