To "Fitness Mike":
1. You should have done your homework on finding better videos.
2. PIU is NOT = to DDR (5 panels on Pump)
3. You should have picked better videos that us in the DDR community knows, such as:
1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=df012p-FGds
This is a video of Dukamok, probably one of the best in the US on DDR, playing In the Groove (which is DDR, but harder), playing Reach's Air (which is a stepfile , not a song that originally appears on the machine. In the Groove, when upgraded with the r21 patch, can play Stepmania files on the machine). Very few people can pass the song with their hands on Stepmania (DDR simulator), and Dukamok gets a full combo on foot (not missing a step)
2.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKAYhZP-n2s
MegamanX (the first person to get all AAA's on DDR Extreme Arcade) AAA's Paranoia Survivor Max Challenge. Only 10-15 people in the world can AAA it. About that many people can pass it, also! |

It's probably well over a thousand. And as far as the ability to AAA it, there's at least a hundred people that could do it if they just whored it out. |

To be fair, I can understand this coming from a fitness perspective. Playing with the bar IS easier, and really, most advanced DDR/ITG/etc. technique runs toward conserving energy, minimizing movement, etc--which run counter to the weight loss/fitness perspective of moving around, burning calories, etc. _________________

Actually, it's mostly just a video of arrows flying really fast up a screen. I think the point of Fitness Mike's page was to show people actually PLAYING. I'm not arguing that his choices were great, but putting THIS one up there would've made even less sense. _________________

in that context, actual dance freestyle and no-bar doubles would be ideal choices for video. _________________

The real top ten list (imo)
1. JSB vs. Reflex on LoM. Just a perfect angle, no bar sdg. Solid form and it just looks cool. Classic, too. Yeah.
2. Dukamok plays Reach's Air. Just, yeah.
3. Damien vs Lilq, Robotix, World Championships. Pro looking, yeah.

But you can't even see him. The JSB vid is better just cause you're at a good angle. _________________

Yeah, I'm sure I'm biased here due to being one of the few no-bar players left on the planet (NOT trying to start a debate, just stating fact), but that angle is SO good for watching his technique and trying to copy it.
That said, there are of course many videos out there nowadays that are better in terms of strict accomplishments and whatnot. One I'm surprised hasn't been mentioned yet since we've gone into ITG is Kevbo's Bloodrush (And you wouldn't believe how many tries it took me to properly spell "Kevbo") _________________

I don't use the bar. I play at home so I dont have one and when I go to the arcade I tried to use it once but I couldnt for some reason I guess cuz I wasnt used to it- it just seemed extra. I still passed lom not using a bar. who needs it not me. we're cool and I rule at guitar hero too! (kinda) _________________
