Probably because you tend to step ahead of the music on slow songs. Fast songs are easier to keep perfect timing with.

You probably do worse on slow songs because you are too used to stepping at higher bpm. Most "fast" songs have you going around 180-200 bpm, and if you get too used to it, you may judge too early when hitting arrows on slower songs...because you're otherwise used to stepping so quickly.

Which is why it's good to start in the 130-160 BPM range and branch out from there.

Medium I prefer, so about 120-180BPM.

I like fast songs with tons of arrows but i like to take off the freeze arrows sometimes but faster songs are easier. One day at the arcade i picked 1998 by accident on standard no speed mods which is like a 5 or something and i almost failed! Fast songs=Ownage. nerd.gif

I can usually read faster songs much better than slower songs, for obvious reasons, but I have no problem reading/stepping to anything over 100 BPM. Anything, under that, however, and I will usually turn on some speed mods.

I like fast and slow songs although I like to pace out the really fast and really slow songs. Three slow songs in a row would not be so fun. Nor would three fast songs in a row. I usually like to take at least one slow and one fast song and the other song can be..doesn't matter.

only if it was in your top 10...

personaally, all songs are good, as long as the music is bearable

it seems the dividing line has been crossed, RC is for trick, all other forums for lesser members

I'm considering sigging this.

I am never picky about BPM. Whether it's Fire Dub or R10K, D-Code or Bouff, I can dig it if it's good.

Its not the speed, but the chart that goes with it for me:

50-130: Chaotic, odd rhythms, and twisty steps are win.

130-150: Usually avoid these, too simple/boring. Occasionally there's a fun one that has steps like I like in 50-130 charts.

150-180: Streams, jumps and gallops, nuff stead.

180-100000000000: Either things like 50-130 (See Sexy Planet), or just fun, twisty, long streams.

Dynamic BPMS are my favorite.

130-150 has plenty of chaos. You've obviously never played Twilight Zone, So Deep, Vanity Angel, etc.

They're usually "how to" threads, headlines, or anything else popular.
