Most everyone can do this after just a few months of steady playing.

Anyone who is in decent physical condition and is playing the game a lot. Also, people who actually care and are trying to get good scores. "Most everyone" however is a gross exaggeration. For a 10-year old, if it was an arcade score, that's pretty good. True there are probably many better 10-year olds, especially these days.

But it's not like there's just something "in the air" now that makes people improve way faster at dancing games. A lot of the best players took 5 years to get where they are now, and some of the up and comers are getting close to that level within a year...but not everyone is like that. It's a misconception. There are a lot of players that get discouraged because they can't even PASS Max 300 after over a year of playing, and talk like that is not helping their self-esteem.

Point is, people like to exaggerate. But hey, I guess if you discourage new players that means less competition for you, right?

Anyway for a list, I'm going to try to go by people that are still actively playing (otherwise LilQ and Damien would of course be on the list):

-Pickles (new world records all over the place)
-Blue Mystic (also returning with a vengence)
-EvilDave
-htmlrules1
-Dukamok
-Brendino
-Kevbo (although apparently we're still trying to figure out if he still plays)
-Reboman (for doubles)
-WinDEU (since he's best at mod-reading I feel he deserves a spot)

As for the next big things in dancing games, well you've heard of them already:

-CartoonHero: If he keeps playing as much as he does now, I think he'll easily break top 50.
-iamchris4forlife: Maybe when he gets his driver's license he'll do arcade more? His course scores on Extreme are pretty amazing. If he keeps playing, and starts doing more arcade play or going to tourneys, he could really prove himself.

It took me a year of steady play before I A'd Max 300 at the arcade. I could have done it on a console version back in November, but my pad exploded when I tried. I'm not saying I'm anything special as far as DDR players, and, granted, I have asthma, but the vast majority of people play for years and don't ever even get to heavy. E15.gif

It's taken my buddy Steven 4 years to get to 9's, and he's still considered really good by almost everyone at my school of 1500 students. (AKA pretty much everyone except for me)

Same here. xP

I should be able to finish my pad this week though. Then I won't be faced with the constant irony of being able to build some of the best pads there are, but not having one. xD

This thread lacks Kobayan.
Oh look, I fixed that.

I consider doubles different from single. In the doubles world, i'd probably say Kobayan, Qkumbr, and tj3 are among the best.
Kobayan is definitely up there, although his only SuperNOVA score that is known is a no-bar AA clear on Fascination Maxx double as an extra stage. His score on Demon Road double on the MAX2 Internet ranking has yet to be matched.

Qkumbr placed high on the SuperNOVA Internet ranking- he made a clean sweep of the four BossRush courses on double and Slow Dance single and placed top ten in damn near everything (go USA!).

tj3... does he still play? He is very good at doubles, although he's been out of the scene lately.

Other top-ranking doubles players include Jboy, reboman, Spencer from Chile (not sure if he still plays), and... uhhh... can't think of any else.

In terms of female players, I know this one girl, LuckyDucky793, who's pretty good. I've talked to her online a few times. She's apparently AAAed stoic and End of the Century. Her score sheet is here if you're interested.

let's not forget Phrekwenci, as he's really good too! E4.gif
and there's this one-legged guy on YouTube who plays doubles and hits the arrows with his crutches and single lower limb.

i think its funny this thread is still here,

like the only people who could be on this list that even post on this site would be like

evildave,cartoonhero,me.

im not saying me and CH can be on the list of top 10, but it makes you think, the sites where the good people post, don't have threads like

"who is the 10 best players?"

This thread screams fanboy on so many levels. Honestly.

As far as DDR goes, you can only get so good. Once you start flagging and AAAing everything you play the line of who becomes the best is diminished.

And ITG had to be solely about scores.

I don't see how anyone plays for score anymore. It's almost impossible to get "good". Why hasn't everyone just moved on to freestyle? That's way more popular with crowds anyway.

thats personal opinion. would you rather see a guy do a handplant on the pad, or someone AAA-ing LOM? i think both are impressive, but you don't gain stamina and skill by doing the crip walk on after the game of love.
