Well, does anybody here play DDR anymore? From what I've seen on some parts of the forum nobody really plays anymore or we have gone to ITG which is what I've done. And the only ones who seem to still play DDR for the fun of it are noobs. _________________

Whaaat?
I know plenty people around here that still play DDR. Heck, you can even tell by the context of posts from many veteran members around here that they, too, still play DDR.
As for ITG, it's technically discontinued, so there will likely be a point where the ITG players will go back to DDR at least for awhile just to get in on a new machine. And besides, it seems most ITG players like DDR, too...since, you know, they had to like that game to like what's essentially a more challenging DDR game.
As for me, I have, still do, and will for a long time from now, play DDR for the sheer enjoyment of playing it. And I'd be hard-pressed to call myself a "noob" at DDR. _________________

While the DDR crowd in general is shrinking, there are still plenty of people who play it. _________________

I never enjoyed ITG, and that is likely to do with me taking the game casually. I rarely play dancing games in general anymore, but when I do its just for fun. Does that make me a noob? not IMO. On the same foot >haha pun< I could go out and say the only people that play ITG are ultra-competitive perfectionists. Am I right? maybe, but it is all a matter of taste. To each their own. ITG players are really talented at what they do. It is a matter of wanting to get "that much better" I kind of said, "thats enough" at 9's and 10's
I must say a thread asking if ppl play DDR on a DDR board is kind of amusing though.
The reason for all these "noobs" can be a direct result of the game becoming a very mainstream thing now. So you get all these kids, teens, etc who just get these games.....play at home...see a machine and go giver a try. There is a LOT more players now than when I broke into it, back in the 3rd mix days
man, i miss that machine _________________

I would, but some girl from the arcade I used to frequent started stalking me, so I don't go there anymore. _________________

I used to be one of the "OHMYGODPLAYFORPA" players, but after I joined the Air Force, I got stuck in some middle-of-nowhere base where the nearest arcade (not even guaranteed to have DDR) is a few hours away. As a result, I was stuck playing only the home versions. Then, when I got an LCD TV (which can't sync with Bemani games for shit), it pretty much killed PA playing even on console. If I didn't play for fun, I wouldn't still be playing today. _________________

Which is only a bad thing if she's not attractive and/or insane. Which is it? (having a gf is not an acceptable answer) _________________

2005 - Stopped Playing DDR in Favor of ITG
2007 - Will probably stop playing 4 panel all-together when Pump Pro comes out

Well to start off... Thats a Stereotype, one of the many people see everyday, And yes many people still do play DDR, Where i live, Regina, There seems to be 2-3 good DDR players, for every good ITG player there is, ITG is scarce in the city of regina, and now that it belongs to Konami, as good as Dead, DDR was the start of dance games ( I think don't quote me on it if im wrong ) and took it to a new lvl, There will always be many DDR players, though for every good player there is a number of noobs, i think it is ignorant to point a Finger at DDR players as a horde of noobs... |

The way I see it, you're not going to get your face on a stamp for hopping up and down.
So enjoy the game and loosen up about getting AAAs or whatever.
That's a rather newbie approach to it, maybe, but that's how I feel. Having fun is more important than some self imposed goal. _________________

Just curious what it is about Pump Pro that's going to make you switch now, when you haven't bothered with Pump up until this one. _________________
