I wanted a simfile. but i got a .EDIT file instead! How do I install to stepmania 3.9? Is it ITG only?

It might work as it is, and just show up as an edit difficulty. If not, copy & paste the steps into the .sm and make it an edit difficulty.

presuming you have audio, etc, just copy the appropriate part of the .sm header with all the song data and it should load up without issue.

also RBCF's link to ITGFreak is good to use.

EDIT: Also note, you can use the EDIT difficulty in .sm files, so you don't have to assign it to hard/challenge or whatever.
