Long story short.....Pump PRO = 5 Panel ITG
Face it, ITG3 aint happening, and since so many good players have completely worn away whatever difficulty was left in 4 panel.....this is the next step for the hardcore players (not to mention Kyle)
I'm just happy enough that Pump's finally getting subdivded arrows....the previous lack-of being my primary reason for sucking at it. _________________

A five panel ITG....
Pump it Up was just ruined. Hell the one thing that kept me in with Pump was korean pop and banya. Besides pump players are more interested with FS and their own crazyass notecharts. Seriously ITG should be seperate from Pump. _________________

From what I've heard Pump and Pump PRO will exist as two separate entities (like DDR and ITG esisting side by side) so you korean purists don't get screwed over....this would also explain why they're doing it now even though NX just came out. _________________

Dawgbowl, yes, we understand, you don't like what you've seen; you're entitled to your own opinion as much as everyone else is entitled to theirs, so please don't start some flame war, why not have an open mind instead.
Also dragging in unrelated events is somewhat childish and should be discussed elsewhere.
Anyways...
My first question is where the timing window will be for this game, as late as that of Pump or as early as that of ITG (hoping for the latter).
It'll be interesting to see some finalized charts, since I know ITG had more straight forward charts while PIU usually lends itself to be more technical; likely there will be a variety of each. Also I'm curious to if any current PIU songs' charts will have any alterations or any songs will have additional charts. _________________

Correct, as far as I am aware.
The game is actually really cool. I just went over and played it today. The synchronization seems superb (heh). There is a good mix of PIU and ItG songs, and the stepcharts are a lot of fun (although I can only manage up to 6-block songs, considering that this is only my second time playing PIU).
Don't bash this until you've tried it. And, if you're going to bash it, at least try to be constructive. It's still in beta. _________________

Perhapse this was the rumor I heard about...
Last week someone mentioned to me about the concept of a 5 pannel that would feature ITG songs and would allow Roxor back on the market for dance games...(I guess thats not the case), but I would love to play this.
(I also heard the silly concept of a 4 pannel *"DDR Arrows" with a single 5th arrow in the middle, which would seem kinda odd to dance on o.O, guess they had to aviod that, konami may sue...)
Im still confused why they made it so close to NX, but Im not complaining. Now Im just waiting till one gets to D&B ^-^.
...Im still scared of what will become the new "Boss Song..." I dont want another Love Is a Danger Zone II. *panic* ( ) |

That doesn't make any sense at all. There is no limit to how difficult the charts can be made. There is, however, a limit to people's skill. And also, the group of players that can *** and **** most of ITG is relatively small. To most ITG players, 12s and 13s are pretty difficult. ITG's difficulty is nowhere near "worn away", and if Konami hadn't killed it, we would certainly be seeing more ITG games in the future. Also, a lot of hardcore ITG players aren't going to switch to Pump, so I don't think it's accurate to call this the next step.
Personally, I don't care about this game at all. Any dancing game that I can't play on my CF isn't practical for me. _________________

I play PS2 PIU: Exceed on my CF all the time - I just use a modified control box - I thought that was precisely why the center panel was made playable?
Anyway - that brings up a good point - to the extent anyone involved might read this - if you are going to make a home version PLEASE MAKE THE CONTROL BUTTONS/ARROWS RE-MAPPABLE!!!
Please!!! |

Give it a few months and people will have fixed up the 5-panel option on SM so it's not so buggy and will allow rolls. _________________

I should have been more clear. While it is possible to play Pump on a CF, the arrows have different dimensions than an arcade machine. Also, I'd have to take off my arcade mod, which would make DDR and ITG less fun. _________________

I think you're wrong here. Most ITG players (the ones that aren't stupid anyway) don't dislike Pump because it's 5-panel; they dislike it because of everything that's wrong with the game (miserable interface, no timing window, etc). PIU Pro will seemingly fix all of the things there are to dislike about Pump, so ITG players would have no reason not to play this game. _________________

Ahh - yes that is true - interestingly in looking at the pictures of this new Pump Pro - it kind of looks like the base arrow dimensions might have been made smaller - closer to DDR/ITG size - but it could just be the angle at which the picture was taken. ****Edit - no I am wrong - in looking at the original size photo on flick'r - the corners are definitely rectangles not squares. |

It's always good to try new stuff, because music games would be boring without a variety. |

your lucky I respect you rhye, heh. Otherwise I could go all day? evening?
Whatever, I'll end up playing this regardless of if I like it or not. You all could have ignored me, but it was just so much fun.
Its a new dance game, of course i'm going to check it out when its near me. I don't have a reason not to, but i can still complain.
Dance Trax please, come back, I had high hopes for you. _________________
