The reason people bar rape lower difficulties around here (especially if they are new) is because they see the better players doing it and assume you are supposed to use the bar. _________________

Bad influence: Another good reason not to hug the bar when you don't need to. _________________

Anyone who has trouble doing Graduation Beginner should at least be able to get it after a few tries. You can't fail your first stage if you're playing on Extreme, and after that, you fail at the end of the song. _________________

Yeah, I was using the bar on Xepher (Oni) once, and this little girl was watching me, so when I was finished, she played on Beginner, and when she held the bar, her elbows seriously went over her head since she was so short. It looked like she felt so awkward, but had to do it to play. =\ |

well, er...
maybe people get nervous when they see 2 arrows at once, I know for a fact that reaction time does some pretty weird things. And even if the song is slow, does a 98 bpm song help that much if you dont know the rythem/beat o.O?
well, on a bigger scale, check how people look when doing MAX songs on 1.5x or even 2x, while Sightreading. Now thats'a some good bar humpin.
what was my point..? oh yes. People jump real high, or other goofy things when they have to react to new things...sometimes
...what I just said was kinda variable... |

The stepzone flashes on the beat, so that might help them get and stay on beat. _________________

This never helps. It only drains stamina faster and makes it harder to hit the arrows during big streams. |

Hmm... I find that I use the bar to keep my balance when doing fast streams like Max, otherwise I trip over myself. But I hold it with one hand, not two. My feet move too slow with two |

What a stupid question. Most people hold the bar to keep their stamina up, why would it be any different for her? Just because she's on light doesn't mean she can't get tired. Stamina is different for everybody.

See, This is hard for me to explain, Because there are ALOT of mixed opinions on the bar.
Some people say it's bad.
Some people say it's good.
See, for me? I have a hearing problem in my left ear, which puts my balance off (eh, hard to explain) So there for I use the bar.
Plus, when most of my weight is there, I can move my feet faster without getting tired quickly.
Some songs may be easy, But are fast, and need that so you can do it right.
Like Sakura, (set for the slow part) Healing vision, All the max songs, Umm. It's a list.
My opinion: Use it ONLY when you need to. I see people hugging the bar on LIGHT songs. I guess some people think it makes you look cooler, and that you are playing harder. Some people actually DO need it. Others.. just I dunno to explain them. |

I've never really cared if someone uses the bar or not, regardless of the song or difficulty. They put the money in the machine, it does no harm, and I don't even need to watch if I don't want to, so what do I care if someone uses the bar or not? Until recently I used the bar on every song, but I stopped on most when I realized I play better without it. >_>
I stil use the bar on fast songs like DropOut, Max300, or Witch Doctor (it should be a nine <_<). I also use it when I get tired, and just want to take some weight off my legs. |

I'm a heavy player and i pretty much always use the bar..Now i dont want to be called noob or watever for using bar for like 7's or 8's but if I want to try to PA and get a good score on a song i use a bar. If i dont use bar, its because i either want to challenge myself if i can do X song without bar or if its gotten to the end of the song and I dont need the bar for that part, or if I'm just fooling around freestlying lol...... but when it comes 2 9's and 10's and above (for ITG) I use the bar cause it helps for stamina and i have better control when I use the bar. Thats my opinion and one of these days ima do Max 300 no bar _________________
