Let me think...yesterday I almost slipped because some idiot decided it'd be funny to throw a ketchup packet on the pads while I was playing doubles. I didn't know what was causing me to slip around until I finished the song, and in order to do so without falling and breaking my neck or something else, I had to grab onto both bars.
Needless to say, if I ever find out who did it, not only am I going to grind their face into a brick wall (which we have several conveniently just outside the arcade) I'm going to force them to clean the pads, THOROUGHLY.
Then grind several ketchup packets in their face for good measure. _________________

Only thing I hate is when people who are better than me stand all around me when im taking my turn on the machine, and then criticize me or laugh because im not as good as them. Thats very distracting when im trying to clear songs, almost to the point where id rather just play at home and not support arcades. |

I'd like to add to my list, people who come up to you after you've been playing a while (with various breaks inbetween) and even though they weren't close to the machine at all, they were expecting a turn. So they say "Hey, when are you going to give anyone else a turn?". You try to explain the coin line, and they don't listen and instead argue. Amazingly, these people did nothing to show they wanted a turn. Sometimes you didn't even see them until that moment. Even if we didn't have the coin line, how the hell would you get a turn by not going near the machine at all? _________________

I agree with this, but don't get discouraged man. Just hang in there and keep trying. Focus on the positive. They're just being assholes. |

This has probably happend to other people.. But.
The other day I was playing DDR.. I finished my round and got off the pads, and went next to the fans on the Cab... It was me and a few other people.. All of us had been playing for a few hours. Keep in mind.. I work up alot of sweat.. as well as my friends.
Point of the story: Some little snobby 12 year old *** girls walked up to play... and then did the whole " omgz it stinkz over hur!!!!" thing. They made it REALLY obvious and gave me and my friends bad looks and then walked away. I then proceeded to say in a semi-loud tone of voice " it's going to smell if you've been sweating!!" And then my friend started spraying Axe all over the place and on us.. The girls got pissy and left. They apparently told the arcade people.. They came over to us and said " well, atleast it smells good over here" and then I mention to them the left arrow was sticking again. |

Heh, yeah, I love it when people comment on how bad I smell (some even make obvious references to deoderants out loud so half the arcade can hear), especially when those same people have been watching me arrowsmash, them almost in a daze over it, for more than an hour.
Well, yeah, spending an hour playing 7s through 10s with the occasional nonstop thrown in for good measure, and with my body type (thick), I'm gonna be sweating up a storm, even with that fan on high directly on me the whole time.
It's a good thing the arcade installed an air freshener that sets off at regular intervals right by the DDR games. _________________

I hate when i'm breaking b4 my 3rd song ( i play bout 4 hours each time i go to the arcade, so i get tired) and someone, lil kid or older, starts hitting random arrows while it's on song select.
example:
I was resting before i did Paranoia Survivor heavy on saturday. Some lil kid like 6 starts jumping up and down on the pad hitting all the arrows he can trying to get them to light up. So anyway, I asked his dad to get him off the pad so i could play, the kid moved.
I start the song, and the lil kid had changed my setting to the following:
2x
reverse
stealth(i think)
and freeze off.
frickin pissed me off. |

I hate it when people (mostly people that have been playing a while) leave the cursor over the song, listen to it for a couple of seconds, and start shaking their head from side to side in a really stupid manner before selecting it. I also hate how people leave the cursor on a song, and briefly look around, almost as if they're trying to see if there's an "audience" before they select the song. I also hate how I'm the only non-goth that's good at DDR when I go to the arcades . |

Oh Im gonna get some heat from this...but I got a few things ppl do that just kill me.
Stage 1: Anti-Social Verses mode.
Its just kinda silly to be right next to a person (who insists on not letting you play doubles *cry*) that has very little interest in communicating to your peer. Example: Sometimes when a line gets long, people will ask to join with me (or just jump on ) and start doin stuff ( with or without my saying *sigh* .) Believe it or not, but someone once went to the SN machiene, selected medium, and forced me into playing Beginner Mode...Throughout the rounds, a player like this will systematicly pick songs that you may not be ready for (that same person picked MAX 300 on my 2nd song, and had the nerve to use the 'CUT' mod.)
Stage 2: Extra Stage Destroyers
There are those that may want a challenge, but when they reach the Extra Stage, sh** can hit the fan with one of these. If your familiar with the : "Please pass *insert 10 footer here*, I cant read reverse...", this is basically the same thing. One click, and your doing Fascination MaXX.
Ouchies....I just wanted to play trip machiene *tear*
Final Stage! o.O: Public Vs. Player?
Gotta watch out for those who are loud / obnoxious (forgive spelling, not stoping to check that one). Depending on their own skill, they may do things that just make you feel bad on a stage. A good example could be someone who walks into an arcade and starts mimicing you, basically shouting how DDR looks silly or even just dumb to them, and in worst case scinerios, going as far as to bother you while you play. Ive had a few people walk up onto me after I finish a song and try to mess with me.
This is no different from bullying or name-calling, I guess we can grow up...
...or how about tell them to suck strait lemons. Half of the time, people that mess with dance players are usually not very good at it themselves.
(Extra Stage:The Big Picture)
I really, Really, REALLY, dont like people that hop up and down like a retarded lab monkey for the purpose of making fun of what I enjoy. Me, my friends, and those who also play that may not know me must all feel a bit hurt by this ignorence.
Sorry if the post was overblown. ~Z |

Agreed. I've had my feelings hurt more than once by some rude people who think it makes them look cool to make fun of others. |

You'd have had to have x2 set beforehand, speed mods cannot be changed via the pad.
I couldn't imagine PSH on x2. And this is also why, when you're playing at an arcade that is frequented by children under 10, if one goes stomping on the pad, bring up the options screen before a song to fix whatever undesireable mods they may have set.
If I didn't do this, there are a few times I would have ended up playing PSMO on Left Reverse Dark Stealth when I intended PSM Standard on Solo.
zenzero: I've encountered many who try to make me feel or look bad while playing because they don't or can't play worth squat. I tend to ignore people, but if someone says I'm gay for playing, I'll say loudly for the arcade to hear: "I GUESS YOU'D KNOW, HUH?!" Shuts them up in a hurry.
And if you ever get those mockers who jump up on the pad and stomp around randomly, pretending to dance, do what I do and "accidentally" swing your arms out to "catch your balance" and deck the loser in the face. _________________

| Aren't there some that don't show up on the options screen? If they do that, going LRLRLRLR will cancel all mods. _________________

Then you'd want to go into options to set them how you wanted anyway, wouldn't you?
What options can you change by the pad that don't show up on the options screen? Is there something I haven't seen yet? _________________
