There appears to be some miscommunication here. That post was directed at the people who say "Konami gave ___ a rating of x, that's the rating displayed in the game, that's why it's an x-footer" as if they're being insightful. Everybody knows that the displayed rating is what it is. We know what the official rating is and we know that it's probably never going to change; it's just that we don't agree with it.

ok well i played the xepher last sat on challenge and I passed it with a C. So that and Sakura are the only 10's i can beat. But for some reason i cant pass Max 300...its weird......so Xepher is sort of like an easy 10 or a middle ten.....comments?

Xepher and Sakura are supposed to be easier than Max 300, especially the latter.

It's easier than So Deep or Cartoon Heroes, both 9's. It's stepchart is most like So Deep, but faster, less rhythmic, and with less 16th's.

Also, I say this having played So Deep and Xepher both at least 15 times, and Cartoon Heroes only 5. I base my "Cartoon Heroes" judgement on the fact that a player far superior to me says it's harder, not from personal experience. Results may vary.

Also, HVAM has 503 steps, but I wouldn't rate it a 10 at all, so the idea that 500+ steps = 10 is a pretty ineffective way to judge songs.

I'd say anything with over 650 steps is definitely a 10, and anything over 550 is likely to be a 10. Stuff over 450 is in candidacy, and anything under 450 is unlikely to be deserving of a 10.

There's my view of the issue. I didn't read the topic much, so any or all of those bases could have been covered previously for all I know.

I don't see why konami didn't rate So Deep a 10 when Sakura was. I've played Xepher, Cartoon Heroses, And So Deep at least 100 times on the PS2 SN. Okay that might be exxagerrated, but then again.... Well, look whatever, Xepher's a 10 footer, can we just leave it at that?

I used to say So Deep was a 10, but now I'd say it's just a really hard 9. Really, there needs to be a 9.5 rating, if only for So Deep, Cartoon Heroes, and Xepher.

One of the reasons I rate Xepher's chart lower is because it could easily be a 10, but the stepchart artist did a really horrible job.
