As many of you may know, the timing is a bit different between those two games.

Basically, when I stop playing DDR and only play ITG, my great counts on DDR with skyrocket, and vice versa. I'd like to play both. Any ideas?

I don't think you understand. I want to play both.

If I play ITG, my DDR scores get worse. I do not want to have bad DDR scores.

Actually, if you play ITG enough your DDR scores should go up naturally. The timing difference is significant.

Your problem is probably the difference in syncing. DDR i think is synced a little late and ITG is synced early (though it might be the other way around, I'm not too sure). You're gonna just have to get used to adjusting between the two of them. I don't know what else to tell you.

actually it is the other way around -- sort of
DDR - synced slightly early
ITG1 AC - synced REALLY LATE
ITG2 AC r1 - synced slightly late
ITG2 AC r8 (i think) and later - synced slightly early like DDR

Well, that's at least my understanding. I know that the first two are right, and then I also remember an arcade around here that had R1 for a year and then switched to R16 and everyone there hated it because they were all used to the late syncing of R1.

R16 is as close to dead on as any mix has ever been.

That was the point of my post.

I pretty much play ITG at home and DDR at home and the arcade. DDR's home timing does not help much.

What the hell, they aren't hard to read at all, and plus, you can just put it on Overhead (like DDR scrolling).

Well some times in Courses they kind of switch between them like from Overhead to Split or Incoming to Cross. That mainly is what i am learning how to read.

WTF, those are different. Overhead and Incoming affect the angle at which the arrows scroll. Split and Cross affect the direction in which they scroll.

That's mainly in intense marathons, and I've been playing ITG since September 2006, and I still can't read them at all. Just play regular songs?

I actually swithch between the two pretty often. It's all about familiarity, try to grasp the perfect window in ddr and the fantastic window in itg, recommended r16 which is dead on and just try to not to become to reliant on one or you'll wonder why are my scores not what they shyould be. And yeah Itg does improve your ddr. I'm basically a complete visual player so timing windows for me are';nt hard to get locked into.

Like I said before, I play home ITG and it hurts my DDR.

I'll try playing more visually from now on until I can switch from one to the other easily.

It doesn't seem to me that you should be having problems. I played ITG right after playing DDR and didn't notice any difference. I guess there really isn't much you can do other than play a few songs before getting used to the timing between the 2 games

Theres your problem.

And yeah, I usually cant play both good at the same time. It takes like 5 songs just to get back into PAing after playing ITG, and same with ITG.

Two different games, two different timing windows.

Perhaps you could change the timing on In The Groove to suit DDR more? Like change the MS something to +5, -5, +10, etc?
