I've been working on the first prototype, but money's really holding me back.
I'm almost done with the base, but I don't have anything for the sensors or panels yet. I might just slap on some old tx1000 panels and use a couple sheets of tin foil for the sensors, then test it for one song (getting a vid) and take pics.
Just to give a general idea of what it is.
I'll try to pick up some lexan and sheet steel when I have the money, but I tend to be pretty much dirt poor from December to June every year.
If anyone wants to transfer a few dollars to my paypal ([email protected]), I will be eternally grateful, and I'll punch Steve if he refuses to give you discount prices.
I'll keep a history of anyone who does contribute money, and knock it off any DTG purchases plus, say 10% interest.
So, if you donate $100, we'll knock $110 of any compilation of future purchases. We'll also worship you like a god.
Yes, at this point, I'm pretty much just asking to borrow a couple bucks as a friend, nothing formal. Then, I'll use my executive power to get you discounts reflecting what you lend me.
Donation-free, I can't guarantee to have anything ready to go for a pretty long time.
Prototypes don't pay for themselves, and I'm jobless until further notice. =(
Hopefully Steve will get that job at Jack-in-the-Box and help out in paying for the prototypes.
But even if so, it could still take a while.
Maybe I'll try my hand as a street musician for a while. xD
To end this message, I'd like to personally apologise for the delay. I recently indulged about $40 in myself with no consideration of the people I had waiting for me to finish that prototype. That was entirely an irresponsible and thoughtless move on my part, and I hope I'll make more considerate decisions in the future.

mmm... they can definitely still sue you even if it's free... just make sure you don't infringe on any copyrights or patents and you'll be fine. |

I can help with a couple more things. (No, I STILL haven't figured out how to use GIMP - I may just pirate Photoshop or something XD) I could create you a nice forum (with the help of a few friends), and I can test the pads / distribute them, HOWEVER I have no means of building them >.>;
But other than that, I'm still working on the custom arrows/graphics...once I can actually start that is. Or something.
EDIT: You know, once I get my job in May (I'll finally be able to legally get minimum wages! Yays!), I could help on the monetary issues if there's still any - I'll have more money than I know what to do with anyways, and I'm wanting to support this company in any way I can. ^.^ _________________

What kind of controller are you going to solder to?
Could you make it so we can pick between PS2 and PC? (USB) |

Okay, that's not a problem. In both your cases, here's what we ask:
We suggest you become an active member of local, state, and regional bemani groups (ie I'm a member of PNWBemani.net, letsgroove.org, and other Oregon/PNW forums; I'm also organising a DDR club for my school). Talk to other members about DTG, and see if you can find anyone else in your locality who would be interested in becoming a distributer. In your cases, ask them if they have the tools necessary to build a wooden box to precise measurements, cut high-gauge steel, and purchase items through the internet. If they do, ask them if they'd like to become distributors in partnership with yourself for your region. Here's a regional map I've put together:

And yes, I'll make USB control boxes using numpads. _________________

Right on.
By the way, my DDR softpad chips were plastic. Aren't they easy to burn/melt/mess up on? |

Haha. Me neither, I managed to burn like 3 controller boards before I actually got one. And the funny thing is, I didnt even solder. I just took metal clips and soldered the wires into the metal clips, then attached the clips on the right wires(ground wires etc) |

Well, that's the idea. I've never experienced lag or axis issues with a num pad playing StepMania before (and they can be used with FFR too, if that's what you're into), but I will test them, and I won't sell a faulty product. (Business Ethics: Almost Completely Unique to Oregon) _________________
