Hey, I'm Random (aka Random Idiot) and 22 (yeah, getting old). I'm from Tacoma, WA and my normal arcade that I go to is Narrows Bowling Alley (Bill Masterman runs the arcade and it's probably one of the best in the NW). Now living in N. Cali (Sacramento/Rocklin area) cause I'm in the USAF and stationed out there. I used to play a lot of DDR but after Extreme it kind of got tiring and a little outdated to me so I cut back for a while. Then ITG came out and I've been playing that a lot more since the songs pose a little harder challenge.

Can do pretty well on DDR, AA most songs (with the exception of songs like PSM/Legend of Maxx, ect). But I can pass every song that I've played on DDR so at least that's something. ITG of course is a different story, can usually get anywhere between 85-90% on most Expert songs. I also play Drum Mania, Guitar Freaks, Beat Mania, Para Para Paradise, Dance Maniax and if I could find a Keyboard Mania in working condition then I'd play that too.

Contact info in signature.

Hey, I'm still kinda new to ddr. I've only been playing for 8 days (spreadout over 5 weeks).
Not sure what im like compared to most beginners, but i played many computer sims using the arrow keys and got quite good at it before moving on to ddr, so my sense of timing would've been a little better than most people.

I can only do most songs and standard and some songs such as era, A and B4U on heavy but thats about it.

I live in Melbourne, Australia.

Nice to have joined here.

Hello! I'm new here. I have been playing DDR for 1-2 years now. All of this on my playstation at home, on the DDR pad that comes with the game, just because the arcades around me are too cheap to have good machines, and my local stores sell crap pads. I live in WA (I can't tell you exactly where for security reasons.), and i am able to do standard/diffucult songs (I am work on Heavy/Hard songs, but i'm not too good on them). Personally I am a little shy, so if there was a DDR machine near me, it'd take me a bit to get my courage up. riiight.gif
So far, I like this forum because you guys are so intelligible about pads and such.

Takeiuchi, if you live in Western WA near Tacoma or Seattle there are a couple of really good arcades in that area, most in a decent distance of there. But if you're in E WA then I can't help ya, I wouldn't know where any of those are (Tacoma area myself, hardly ever go to E WA). I think there's one at the WSU Campus lol.

I'm a 13 year old girl and still a newbie, I guess.

My brother (15 years old)
Twin sister (13 years old)
Me (13 years old)

As a team, we all have a similar ability to adapt quickly to playing any song. We're all on Heavy. And we get As too on that difficulty. We have only played DDR for one year.

We can't pass all boss songs yet, but we're playing when we can. We play every moment in our lives after school on our PS2 with poor, cheap pads, getting As and AAs.

We try our best on the ITG and DDR arcade machines, and end up getting Bs on standard, since we don't risk losing money just for one Heavy song.

Our DDR version collection:
DDR MAX (Unplayable forever)
DDR MAX2 (Only a few songs)
DDR EXTREME2 (Only for every song with a Challenge difficulty)
DDR SuperNOVA (Mostly frequently played)

All songs are unlocked on every single DDR version we have and passed most songs with AAs.

So, um... hi. We live in New York.

If you can AA stuff at home, you should be able to get at least a B or a C at the arcade.

Hi everyone

Im new here as you can gather E10.gif and just poped in to say hello and tell you alittle about myself.

My real name is Roman and i live in the Westend / London / England, i saw a guy a couple of years ago dancing on one of the machines in the arcade, and i have never seen anyones feet move so fast, they should make this an Olimpic sport, lol. Well, from then on i did not think anything more of it and i dont really spend lots of time in the arcades, as doing other things.

A mate of mine who i have not seen for a couple of years grabbed me for a couple of pints and a chat while he is in my neck of the woods, and started telling me all about DDR and how fantastic it is and all the different songs and conventions all over the world etc, so im interested and he said go and check out all the videos in You Tube and type in DDR to see what i think.

WOW, I was hooked imediatly especially when i found out that you can play these games at home to learn, then try to look cool in the arcades when you get good ^.^

From that moment i was reading every single site i could find including this one (the TX4000 - TX6000 section in here is fantastic) to find out everything i could before making the big leep hehe.

A couple of days ago now went to Amazon UK and got myself Dancing Stage Max and the cheep solf Logic 3 mat, as i found out that this was a good mat to start out with in the soft mat area. I got these today and wow, or should i say oups E10.gif lol im on the Learning stage at the moment and im so proud of myself for not fulling over and getting to section 8 with dancing and no misses wowowoow E1.gif i just love it and so much fun, plus i broke my angle a few years ago in Australia so this is a good time to give it some excersice.

Well, while reading on Thursday just gone in this forum, i found out that the Metal Pads are the best to get and give you the clossest feeling to the Arcade's dance pad.

Yesturday / Thursday i found FutureMax.nl and bought there new version of the Tx Pad, the TX-6500 - v3 Special FMAX Edition - Metal Pad, and got the emails from them today saying that Paypal is good and they have the money and will be sending me my Tx-6500 this Monday coming, so i can train on a Metal pad. I did think that i dont need it as im so new to this but a couple of guys on anouther site said if you can get one now, do so becouse it will make the transition to the Arcade machines esyer in the future.

Im so excited to get it, and dancing with joy, forgive the pun, sorry XD

Hope the emails is not too long and really nice to meet everyone

cheers

Roman ^.^

Hello, my name is Hector, 17 years old from Brooklyn NY. I played DDR for 2 years but then had to stop for personal reasons such as school.

Recently I picked up DDR Supernova to hopefully start up again. After a day of playing with my gf I noticed something. Sadly my skills have taken a horrible plunge and I can barely pass songs on difficult with a B or an A. Hopefully with practice I can get back into the groove of things and maybe make it to a competitive level of playing.

Um. I think that's pretty much it, I'm pretty open to tips or tricks that will help me get better. Cya around.

HI, my name is terrato, if you dont know its a name of an esper in final fantasy III(american version for snes) My real name is Mark and i've been playing ddr for maybe a total of like... it's strange. I started ddr like 2 years ago for about 2 months or so. Thenjust recently i got back to playing and after one week I'm A'ing most standards and well.. I really have only been trying one song on heavy(In the Heat of the Night-by E-rotic[happens to justv'e become my favorite band.])but otherwise i play on my soft pad that came with the game. I also am not a bar-hugger but some people say i'm a bunny because when i get frustrated i jus start jumpin around.

Now i have some questions for you guys. I'm creating a DDR club in my school and so far it seems that it might get off the ground. I'm wondering what would be better. Would you rather pay $25 for used xboxes and used ddrs or wuld you rather pay $30 and get brand new ps2s and new ddrs with pads and memory cards?

oh and is it normal to never score high in chaos? and how come i can never fill the entire stream gauge?

I would get the Xbox because Ultramix 2 has the best songlist of any US home version and Ultramixes 2 and later have excellent stepcharts. The soft pads that come with them don't move as much as PS2 soft pads and you don't need memory cards.

You should move on to Heavy, then. Let the beat hit 'em! (Classic R&B Style) and Let's Groove are the only 6's, but WWW.Blondegirl and Dive (more deep & deeper style) are easy 7's.

Hi, the name's Niki. I'm a 21 year old theatre major from the middle of nowhere Kansas. I've been playing now for a few months now and I've made my way up to very easy stadard songs. I still fail a lot of light ones though. I have no sense of timing whatsoever.
This DDR thing is all my girlfriend's fault. I now have her saying DDR as a single word rather than letters though. Go on and say it like that, it's fun. Du-der.

I so do not say it like that! (Very often...)

Hi, I'm cat_juggler's girlfriend. I'm constitutionally unathletic. At my first high-school cross-country meet, I ran so much slower than everyone else that by the time I got done with my 2.5 miles, they'd dismantled the finish chute. True story. I've managed to work my way up to 6-footers after playing daily for a month or two, and while I'm bound and determined to pass PSMO someday, for now I will settle for Colors Heavy.

Funny story: I'm at the arcade and there's a whole bunch of 10-year-old boys sort of collectively playing DDR. Now, there are 10-year-olds in this town who could wipe the floor with me, but these were not them. They were kind of flailing around aimlessly on Beginner, and eventually they got bored and wandered off. I got on and started playing, and sometime during the 2nd or 3rd song I noticed that I had an audience. The boys were standing behind me going like this: E11.gif (I really am not that good!)

When I finished the song, one of them turned to his buddies and said, "Wow, I wish I was a girl!"

It depends on what you're comfortable with. If you'd rather play x1, go ahead.

It's didder. Say it with me: Di-der.
