Jigsaw with plastic and wood cutting blades
Drill with multiple bit sizes (optional phillips screwdriver head)
Rubber mallet
Screwdriver
Hand sander (may not need this, but it could help)
Tin snips

Oops, I almost forgot to mention you also need a solder iron and wirecutter/wirestripper for the electronic parts. Also, a scisors for cutting the paper, but I assume you already have one anyway.

If you're doing work with metal paneling at all, pick up a third jigsaw blade for steel cutting.

Okay. So I don't want my TX-2000 anymore, and I can't afford a BS. I don't nkow exactly were to start

But what I want to do is, make the most arcade realistic homepad. Instead of a flat thin one, I want to use 2x4s.

What measurements should I go by? Can I use my TX has a template to make my home pad?

Also, I will be using 3/8'' thick lexan for my panels.

Mod the tx2000 to suck only slightly less than a tx4000, then sell it for $250 and put that towards getting a blueshark or buying materials for a homebrew.

That's what I'm doing with my tx1000's.
When I'm finished with 'em, I'll sell them on eBay with a starting bid of $150 and a buy now price of $250.
If someone buys the final product for the minimum bid, I'll still have enough to start building DT200's.

Dark blue would be the logical choice.

Hi, I'm from Australia and about to start on riptides design.
Two questions, where abouts would the best place be to source materials from? In particular the corner brackets and weatherstriping I've heard they're hard to get a hold of down here.

Secondly which sensor design is better? riptides, with the 16 screws per pad or using the two sheets of sheetmetal?

Cheers & thanks in advance.

when you say two sheets of sheet metal, are you referring to the mending brackets in riptide's design or the two big sheets of sheet metal like in stoli's design?

Actually, there's someone here who just finished a pretty nice riptide pad. here

You might try talking to him about stuff; he definitely knows more about it than I would.

sorry about that. WAH!! I watched the videos of riptides then just checked the website, they use two different methods of sensors, one uses Mending brackets and the other screws. Also stolis uses another style again.

Which one would be the best guys?
Thanks

I used sheet metal for my pad, it seems to be easier to work with, at least for me.

i like the mending bracket idea

the sheet metal never worked for me, and the screw design worked, but eventually it started to die on me

i think the mending bracket is the strongest also
(im also planning my own hybrid bracket design..no idea when ill be done tho)

Bunning's has both the corner brackets and weatherstripping.
