As an ole skool FS'er, I WANT to see more grooving, R&B or Hip-Hop type music in there (they need to get some badly). DDR turned gay when it went all techno and poopy (this means you, DDRMAX). Thats one of the main reasons there's no more Freestylers anymore, no more good music. Its just unrythmic crap now to move your feet fast to. Back in my playing days, it wasn't like that. It became more of a task than fun.
I would love to see some Madlib, Doom, or RJD2 on the next mix. At least I can dream.

At any rate, submissions open today! I've got a bit of time to go before I submit my works, but best of luck to those submitting today! |

My friends and I were going to submit a song we did called "Dominara", but we hit some problems:
1. It's 12 minutes long
2. Sam's grounded hardcore, so we have no lead guitar and lost half our vocals.
So I'm thinking I might try getting back into MIDI and make some techno beats, then stream them to one of my old songs. _________________

Hey! Where are all the requests for Zeta Aspect to enter?
...
I'll just go and win it without you. Then I'll laugh. Then Konami will laugh at me when I request that they put my work in the ItG 3 that they won't make.
...
Yeah...
But seriously, I should enter with some serious muzacs. And I need to remember to cut back down to ~1:30.
I think entry fees are actually less than last year's, if you have high-end membership. Otherwise, submission is still $20 per tune. Sigh; I guess I know where my StepMix winnings are going. _________________

Sorry, your genre went to hell years ago. The only worthwhile song to use now is Sweetest Savage.
And Battle Breaks. |

I would probably want to make the cut myself. Then again, I don't know if "Full compositions work better than minimal compositions" means to use the full version or to use compositions that fill the frequency spectrum. As in, a song with piano and strings trumps a song with only piano. If it means the latter, I should make the cut, which would be better as a DDR song. _________________

Please, make sure that you are basing your opinion on the music that you have always truly adored. Don't let Konami, Microsoft, or RedOctane "tell" you what to like. I mean, how many people would really like "PARANOiA" if it hadn't been made into such a "boss"-type song for people to have to learn to enjoy?
I don't think DDR is the music. DDR is the game.
The music could and should be anything. |

Mainstream rap, hip-hop, etc. sucks. That's all there is to it, really. That was my point. |

But he's primarily in IIDX, *not* DDR, which he was meant to be, given last year's contest.
I'm willing to wager a couple of $$$ that this year's winner will not gonna compose for DDR immediately. _________________

The DDR cut would probably be 0:17-1:47 or 0:48-2:22. Oh, and man! what an aggressive snare! _________________

Umm, are you basing this on my Myspace recording or the Broadjam recording? The one on Myspace is crap compared to my "official" cut. Although, yeah, the snare IS a touch "RIPKILLEATYOURFACEOFF". My dad suggested the crescendoing snare rolls. _________________

Broadjam.
...And I like the snare (if I recall correctly, since I'm too lazy to go listen again). _________________

If no one's heard EternuS yet...

That'll be my entry for the Broadjam DDR Song Contest. I'd prefer you use the SoundClick one just to visit the site and make the ratings a bit better, but the MP3 below that is the high quality 256kbps version. Hope you guys like it.
Also,

The original is good. I don't care much for any other PARANOiA song except the original from 1st mix. The concept has been run into the ground, and they ruin it more every single recreation. The original genre was probably either DnB or Jungle! Now what is it? Some wicked form of IDM or what? Max has also fallen into this trend, but it doesn't re-use the same samples over and over again and each song actually sounds different. Compare MAX 300 with Fascination MaxX. Now compare PARANOiA with PARANOiA Survivor. Disgusting, isn't it? _________________
