Did you debow your panels, and loosen them so they aren't extremely tight?

Alright, I was able to thoroughly test my Flux yesterday afternoon.

- I suck with shoes, even though I'm using Nike Free's. It's going to take some time switching from socks, which I've played in for months.

- ITG didn't go very well, mostly because my stamina has gone to hell. I experienced a few non-combos that didn't seem to be my error, but I might be stepping wrong on my arcade-modless pad.

- DDR was quite good. I re-AA'd Sakura, CH, Max 300, and actually got a few SDG's on Max (PS2), which surprised me considering the tight windows. I still had some nc's that felt like my pad.

So I'm either stepping incorrectly or my pad is having a minor issue. The non-combos aren't bad compared to others, I maybe have 2-3 per song with a few full combos mixed in. I'm probably going to take Bob's advice and do that quick-fix that he has been quoting everywhere E10.gif.

there are a certain kind of shoes that someone on the CF forums said was perfect for them, for ~$10 at wal mart. i'll have to find the thread. (it's in the pictures forum, i'll look for it.) he said they feel like socks, but protect your feet from the screws and sharp edges. also, you could put cardboard under the corner panels as an alternative to an arcade mod (i think).

also, maybe you have big feet. i got the ITG bundle a few days ago, and i got what i thought was ghost steps (and i freaked out because of it), but last night i realized that i was stepping slightly on both panels. maybe it's bacause i was a toe player, and recently switched to flatfooting, so maybe i'm hitting the right spot with my toes, but hitting the down arrow with my heel? i don't know.

Are you referring to the kung-fu shoes that some guy posted a link to online? E10.gif
Oh, and if you're going to use the cardboard for an arcade mod, put them under the lexen.

Meh...it apparently doesn't always fix the problems people are having with newer CFs.

I think the real issue here is that the guys at CF need to get their act together. Something has obviously changed for the worse in the design or manufacturing process.

If it was as easy as that I'd pay $100.00 for a control box. But seriously, I doubt it. My Cobalt Flux is getting to the point where I can't even play on it due to all these ridiculous pad errors. So now I'm stuck with a pad that I payed $500.00 for that I can't even play on. Great.

Haha, my thoughts exactly. biggrin.gif

I kind of doubt it's a cbox problem. I suppose it wouldn't be the first time CF has had major problems with their cboxes, though. Someone with a new, sucky pad should find an old/working cbox and try it.

I'd really like to see one of these new CFs myself. CFs are pretty simple on the inside, and I don't think it would be too hard to pinpoint the problem if you took one apart and tested a few things.

HOLY WOW YOU'RE MY HERO MARIOGIRL.

Did you just use standard 11"x8.5" paper?
'cause it actually looks pretty rockin'.
Although it would be better if they had nifty backgrounds. E13.gif

Make sure to laminate them though, if you haven't already.

AA Bob>>>I'd be more than willing to take my Cobalt Flux apart to take pictures of it so you could possibly identify a problem. I'd also be willing to try these tests as I really need a working pad soon.

Mariogirl>>>Nice decals. E10.gif

Thanks for the offer, but I don't know how effective that would be. If it's a wiring problem (which I'm guessing it is), it would be pretty hard to tell what's going on without actually playing on it.

One simple thing you could check for, though, is the condition of the wires. Maybe CF switched to a new type of wire with a coating that strips/splits easily.

Oh, and those are some kickass decals, Mariogirl. biggrin.gif I've thought about replacing mine, but I guess I'm just too lazy.
