i have one of those pads and the down arrow doesnt work at times.
it seems as though the down arrow sticks to the contact points (or w/e it is) and doesnt come back up. i can manually take it off with my hands but it happens a lot during songs. what can i do to fix this? thx

To my knowledge there is nothing you can do. I would reccomend getting a foam pad next, those are much better.

there is something with the down arrow, that is the one that always screws up.

if you can fix it and want to maintain it, mod it.

if you don't know how to fix it, try opening it up and looking for what the problem might be if you are really desperate. (don't blame me if you break your pad though.

Don't buy from RO. Someone link him to that site where you get the DX Extreme.

A mod you can try is to secure light tin plates (not foil) to where each of the arrow sensors go, then replace the foam sensor-separators with some more decent foam, and your sensors should work decently, at least for a little while.

I've had my softpad for more than a year and it still works perfectly and my cousin had his ignition for less than 3 months and it's dead. So foam pads are not that much better.

I played on my softpad for 14 months before ever having anything in the way of a problem.
In the 15th month, it went from mint condition to being about 50% duct tape, it just so happened to be the first time I ever played at the arcade too.
In the 9 months following, it's been used 12 times, 3 modded, and then I scrapped it.

What I'm saying is that a softpad can handle a softpad player for years, but when that softpad player becomes an arcade player, that softpad is SCREWED. (unless modded)

Foam pads can hold up against an arcade player for a few months; a softpad might make it 3 days with me now, and I don't play anything above 11's.

Just go BNS; and gawd, can you people stop asking the same stupid questions every day and actually look at the topic lists and check out a review now and then?

Really, there's never going to be a different answer than what we've all told the 500 other people who come looking for whatever you're looking for.

Jun: Oh well; I guess you've just never lost the feel of playing on a softpad, and I did. (and it is all about feel, 'cause I've seen a 190 lb dude play an 8-footer on a softpad with no issues right after I mangled it up playing a 7, and I'm 130).
