So...is SuperNOVA's songlist really complete with what we have? No one has discovered any other unlocks? I'd of thought that songs unlocked via linking feature, but that theory has been blown out the window..
Fascination MaxX, Fascination~eternal love mix~, Healing-D-Vision, CHAOS...do these remain only playable through extra stage? _________________

Yes, supernova is Complete as is, and Chaos and the like are only playable through ES, OMES, and courses. Konami may, however, release a disk in the fashion of the upgrade kit to give us "A lot more songs than the last one did." that will also be how faxX and its brethren will be unlocked, according t o Ryan Cravens, A betson Employee. He will email me if he finds out anything new. _________________

I sent him an email a while back, but I'm still awaiting his response..
The only songs I could see coming with another update are the goodies from the home version(Star Gate Heaven(Future Love Mix) etc). But hey, there is always the tiniest shining light of hope for yours truly. _________________

I remember he asked what songs players would like to see in DDR, (actually this was over at the barcade forums) so I think that may lead to another update disc. (I think that's their method of unlocking this time, since nobody will be able to unlock stuff early, and ruin any IR plans Konami has.)
On an unrelated note, I can never seem to hit the jumps on Centerfold right. I start off getting a bunch of perfects, but sometimes I'll get a random great, yet I'm usually guaranteed to get greats on the jumps. Do you think that's a timing issue? or am I just not hitting them on time?

If Konami kept the Memories unlock method silent for two years, I have no doubts that the SuperNOVA machines contain unlock methods/codes that will be unfound and revealed only when Konami chooses to do so. _________________

That's why I thought the disc-based update would be the best way to do it, they can ship new discs with updates that unlock or add new content, instead of having to use a network (which no arcade in the US AFAIK, has access to.) to get unlocks, like Japan does.

Now if only more people post over there, we might actually get some reply from Ryan... _________________

too bad their IR sucks balls this time around. no name longer than 8 characters, no specific location, no comment, no ability to track (via email), douplicate/multiple submissions with no ability to delete old scores, etc. etc. this "IR" is nothing more than a scoreboard; something that would be great for local use, but utterly horrible for a global ranking system. _________________

So, Supernova has been out since June and it's been almost a year since it was announced last January. Does anyone think that Konami will announce a new arcade game soon? _________________

That is unknown at the moment. IMHO, since SN dedicabs and upgrade kits were selling like hotcakes, you could say that the possibility of a new mix is highly inevitable. When it will be announced remains to be seen. So it's best to wait 'till we get official word from Konami. _________________

I hope they hire new stepchart artists. Most of the new charts are pretty bad IMO.
Most of the home version stuff (specifically the UltraMix ones) are pretty good, but the original stuff for SN is far and few between that I really enjoy playing. _________________

Here's hoping for an R22 that allows for things like long versions, banners, and backgrounds.
... Has Tiger Yamato ever done a song called "R21"? _________________

Hey! I found the thread! I was going to make a new one because I couldn't find this one after a few looks. Put the "SuperNOVA" first or something.
Since I'm being all demanding here's what I want in a patch or sequel or whatever. I think some of these qualify as bugs.
- I said this one already, but if you get a game over before the extra stage then you should still be able to enter your name. If you die on FaxX you can enter your name for Fly Away. But if you walk off on Forever Sunshine then your 99% on Fly Away goes without a name.
- Mind Parasite is not a 6. The new steps should be rated 8. (Made a great random qualifier though.)
- I don't like how event mode still kicks you back to the title screen and still allows extra stages. As it is right now event mode basically just means "Menu Timer: on/off". I know how I want event mode to work but I understand that some people need EM to accept credits and play normally. So change "Event Mode" to a sub-catagory of the operator's menu and add options such as:
Menu Timer: on / off
Allow Extra Stages: on / off
Rounds: on - normal stages / off - continuous play, requires freeplay
Name Entry: off / on - each new record / on - after each round
- Name Entry with Event Mode does not seem to work even when you finish the round. There are some scores that I'm positive I've seen beaten (or beat myself ) during Event Mode which were not saved, not even with the default name. But I've also seen other scores that were saved during event mode.
- You fvcking KNOW what!
-----
Numerical order never stopped Tiger Yamato: R3 -> R5 -> R10K -> R2. One thing that might stop him though is his carreer change. In his artist comments for Tiger Yamato (song title) he said that he sold his beloved car and plans on opening a restaurant. But because I can't read Japanese I don't know if he was serious not. |
