Hey guys, I was looking at this topic

http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=115237&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

And according to the review, it seems to fit my playing style and I think it would be a good choice for me (i'm only at about a 8-9 step, I hope to improve to a 10-11 however)

I did however find this http://cgi.ebay.com/Ninja-Metal-Dance-Revolution-DDR-PAD-PS2-XBOX-PC-USB-NR_W0QQitemZ320057939826QQihZ011QQcategoryZ21188QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
And i'm wondering if this is indeed the same pad, since the price is much lower that what it was payed for in the review. Also would this be a good choice for me?

Thanks!

I would stay away from anything you get on eBay. Even though some people have gotten lucky with them, many have received them not working at all, or living a very short life span. The three metal pads that are currently most reccomended are the Blueshark, Nexen, and Cobalt Flux. Go with the Flux if you want something extremley sensative and durable thta will last you a long time if price isn't an issue. Just get the arcade mod with it. Even with the arcade mod it's not exactly arcadelike, but it's pretty close. If you want something exactly like the arcade, get the Blueshark. It's less durable and less sensative than the Cobalt Flux, but overall a great pad to get. As for the Nexen, it's the least expensive of the three. It works quite well, it's nice and sensative, and will last you a while without much worry. Just don't get it if you can manage a CF or Blueshark.

Hope I helped.

EDIT: Get these pads here:

Blueshark and Nexen: http://mymybox.com/

Cobalt Flux: http://cobaltflux.com/

Also, don't get an Afterburner. They suck.

If pads were $-124235432u8459, then that'd mean that you'd get $124235432u8459 every time you bought one. Also, $250 is not a lot of money for something good. $80287349237 is a lot for something good.

A Nexen then will probably be what i'll go with. I'll only be playing up to 10 steps though, do you really think that it will be enough to the point were the Ninja pad won't hold up?

I'll definentlly be the one to take your word though

The Ninja pads definitely won't hold up during 10 footers, and if they do, you'll be getting a hell of alot of pad misses/NCs. The Nexen on the other hand will be fine for 10's and even 11's and 12's when you get to that point. It'll just move around alot so you might want to make a base mod or something.

And yes, the Cobalt Flux is extremely durable, but it's not extremely sensitive. Honestly, the only reason I got one is because all the CF fan-boys were saying "Get the Flux! It feels almost exactly like the arcade and it's super sensitive!" Guess what? I got it with the arcade mod and it felt nothing like the arcades, and it wasn't as sensitive as I hoped as the buttons mushed in. And yes, I've debowed my panels, and I've had it for about two months so it's "broken in." Honestly, are the people who say it feels like the arcade people who play at the arcade frequently? Because I play DDR and ITG every week and it feels much different than a CF with or without the mod kit installed. If I could have went back to when I needed a metal pad, I would have just gotten a Blueshark instead.

MasterInuYasha>>>$250.00 really isn't alot to pay for a metal pad if you want a decent one. It's better to spend the extra money or wait until you can afford it than to go out and buy a crappy metal pad just because you can.

No problem; if you have any more questions feel free to ask. Have fun with the Nexen. E1.gif
