My attempt at trying to start a good discussion on this forum.

How does having a boyfriend/girlfriend affect the amount of time you play DDR?

Do they not mind and let you play as usual?
Does is bother them and they ask you not to play cause they think its stupid?
Do you willing not play as much to spend more time with them?
Do you get to play more cause they play too?
etc.

*hopes this wasn't posted before*

Does is bother them and they ask you not to play cause they think its stupid? I'm only told not to play the same song over and over or to change up characters so it's something different to look at.
Do you willing not play as much to spend more time with them? Sometimes XD
Do you get to play more cause they play too? That's rare when we do play together, my other prefers RPGs.

If you have a significant other, you will lose them playing DDR.

That's quite a bold statement.

I could imagine such a circumstance happening where someone plays DDR *all the time* to the point of being negligent to their significant other. However, I don't think that it would be likely to happen in a mature relationship where you would get dumped just because he/she thinks DDR is lame.

Most people in relationships think at least one or two things their significant other does is lame. But most people can learn to just deal with it.

it was actually my ex who got me into DDR, before i met her i had sworn never to step food on a DDR machine cause i thought it was stupid. But then every time we would go to the mall she would play and i wouldn't and then a bunch of other guys would always go run up and play with her and try to flirt with her, so i decided to learn lol.

Well i tried it out and ended up loving it.

My current GF plays too. I didnt know that until after we hooked up. I think after i met her i started playing more, cause she really likes to play.

If i had a gf who didn't play i don't think i would play as much. I end up doing less of my hobbies in favor of spending time with her, but then again im sure its pretty much like that with anyone in a relationship.

My ex got me into DDR just as an experiment to see what it was like. Then she started hating on all videogames ridiculously and getting all PMS-acting when i would even mention videogames, even DDR (which was her idea to begin with!) But in the end i saw it was just her way of trying to control me so i let her go. there were other reasons, to be sure, but this is just one example of the idiocy.

So, significant others have not affected my DDR playing habits, other than creating them to start with.
