I know. girls can play ddr just as good as guys. It just depends how much you practice. we should be concentrating on discussing what people are the best at ddr instead of are girls or guys better at ddr. _________________

Sorry, I'm a male posting in this thread, but I do agree with that completely. _________________

I consider that very good. I see very few female DDR players, and none of them have even been as close to being as good as you. |
That's probably the kind of response she didn't want to hear. She's talking about how she ranks among (mostly male) tournament players, not among other girls. _________________

Give this man a cookie.
Like I've said before, if I wanted to be one of the best girls in my region, I would've quit three or four years ago.
If I were a guy pulling those kinds of scores in semi-respectable tournaments, I would not be considered good and people would wipe the floor with me.
But since I'm a girl pulling those kinds of scores in semi-respectable tournaments, I'm considered OMFG AMAZING and people still wipe the floor wtih me, but I get all this attention for being, well, to put it bluntly... mediocre.
This is why I get frustrated in threads like these. If a guy came in and wrote in a thread about how he could AA things at that level, no one outside of the personal accomplishments threads would care, because of the generally accepted standards of skill. So why so much attention for someone who gets the same kinds of scores but is a different gender?
If you really want to progress past this kind of noob-ish view and attain some sort of respect for yourself (and your gender), or really want to be noticed in the community for your skill, get yourself a friggin' scoresheet at Recall or keep track of your scores, learn stamina technique and foot placement, work on your timing, play and submit scores for the ~250 stepcharts in Extreme/ITG/Supernova/whatever. Play all the songs, get scores that are comparable to males. I hate to put it so crudely and wrong, but have the same competitive drive as the guys do to earn respect and recognition rather than ride on a lower standard and the attention you get from it. |

As a guy, I should take some offense to that. But I won't. But that's good advice to the other female players here in the forums. _________________

OK then, let me put it this way. You're better than me. I only have 4 AAA's. _________________

If you're in NYC, then you just missed a big tournament last month at the Javits Center. Four girls entered that tournament, including myself. |

This thread is essentially useless now. After reading over it it makes girls look dumb with all the "omgdz ima girl and I didder 9 footz lolololol" (a few exceptions, of course)
Thread = fail. _________________
