Ok, i have a problem. Whenever i go to the arcade and start playing, by the end of my second song im usually sweating like crazy. Im a 9-10 foot player, just recently started passing the max's. Ill pick holic first, just to warm up.. then ill play csfilsm or hvam, and by the time im done my shirt is soaked. It's pretty annoying. Im 6'4, 270 pounds.... im not a twig E10.gif. I know losing weight will help me with this problem.... if only losing weight was that easy frown.gif. Are there any kind of specific exercizes that can help me with this problem? I know it sounds like a stupid question... but im desperate here. All my "skinny" friends can do a few sets of songs and not sweat at all. I usually wear jeans and a t-shirt. Any advice is welcome frown.gif.

Well, firstly, you need a more gradual warm-up to get your body set up.

But otherwise...hey, the more sweat, the better. As long as your stamina doesn't take a hit.

Don't worry about it. I sweat like a MAN when I do songs that take a lot of stamina for me. Just make sure you keep hydrated and have fun. E13.gif I don't think it has anything to do with weight either. Chances are, if you lost the weight, you'd still sweat a lot.

Doubtful. It's not as if you're carrying around 100 pounds of water in your body. This is just how your body works. Go ahead and lose weight for other reasons, but don't expect it to change how much you sweat.

I sweat 23846293749237432 times more than anyone else at my arcade. But really, it's no big deal as long as you don't smell; that's what deodorant is for.

People have brought up this topic before, and I decided to Google it just now. I found out that excessive sweating is actually a recognized medical condition. It's called Hyperhidrosis, but it seems to be something that can cause excessive perspiration even when you're not nervous or physically exerting yourself. There are treatments available, but most of them are kinda extreme or have side effects. As others have mentioned, though, weight has nothing to do with it. I knew a skinny little kid in grade school who would leave shirts drenched after dodgeball games in gym class. Maybe all your skinny friends just have heat stroke or something. laugh.gif

Agreed. Take a can of AXE with you. Spray it on generously whenever you start sweating a lot. That should help so you don't stink. E1.gif

o boy, then you can smell like poopy and sweat!!

AXE does nothing to stop you BO from smelling. It is simply man perfume that guys think they'll get layed if they use it. I use redzone bodyspray, which is the same thing only it smells respectable and isnt advertised with sex.

i sweat a ton when i play DDR(usually mostly at arcades). I'm a pretty sweaty guy anyway, whether it be when im nervous(ugh, i hate that) or when im doing physical activity. I sweat a lot quickly, but my stamina is fairly high. Also, i'm 6'1", 149 pounds, so its not me being fat or out of shape, its just me being...sweaty.

As Reenee says, you might just need a more gradual warm-up method. Play 7-8 footers just to loosen up for a few songs, then go for the 9-10's.

The temperature in the arcade could have a big effect as well. Of all the arcades I go to, Cedar Point's is by far the worst in the summer. Air conditioning hardly does anything and I sweat a lot.
But really, there isn't a heavy difficulty DDR player that I know that doesn't sweat a fair amount after doing HVAM, Max 300, etc. So IMO, it just is a natural thing.

Bring a rag with you and a drink if you must.

weight does, unless its all muscle. fat is an insulant, it keeps ur body warm. if u have a lot of it, ur naturally warm, but if u do activities involving cardio, ur gna sweat like a pig. and the more u weigh, the harder ur body has to work. making u work hard and sweat a bunch

Actually, pigs don't sweat. That's why they roll around in mud.

Everyone sweats different amounts. I sweat a lot, enough that the arcade owner reminds me to towel off the pad and bar when I'm done (THis has happened multiple times at multiple arcades.)

SO yeah, maybe you just sweat a lot like me. I sweat the same amount at my weight now (200) as I did when I was 2 inches shorter and 240.

So, yeah....
