[quote="RaulMDQ coverage"]-There will be five different "versions" of PIU NX, with the difference being the language displayed in the World Tour station. English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, Russian.
Arturo wrote: | The World Tour is pretty amazing, with tons of cities to conquer (think Mission Mode). Â Lots of new twists and challenges here, for the elite who like extreme challenges. Â Lots of things to unlock, but they'll have to be unlocked on each machine, I'm pretty sure (no USB input/output used, as rumored). |
Each city conquered lets the conquerer put in his/her name, which stays on that city until that score gets beaten.
Quote: | At the other end of the spectrum, there is a fantastic noob station this time, filled with many Lessons that teach various concepts/types of steps to the beginning player. Â They can learn so much faster and really don't need much help at all to learn the game very quickly. Â In tests, they had one total noob complete all the lessons in 3 days, and then was playing medium-level Hard songs right away. Â
And there is plenty for all players in between these extremes. Â Lots of great FS songs. Â |
Pump Haven Details wrote: | -Immense new song list size. At least a few dozen, with reports of 37, 38, 43, and 46 new songs from different sources.
-There are 12 BanYas (7 Yahpp and 5 BanYa Productions), 12 K-Pops, and 5 Pops, with an unknown number in Special Station.
-The game no longer has the songs split up by channels, but rather has them all chained together in one continuous loop, somewhat like in the past before Exceed. Songs which shared channels before are still joined together (such as all Banyas being together). Both top left and top right now change difficulty.
-Channels: K-Pop, Banya, Pop, with all new songs being placed in "New Tunes" channel (when the song is selected, the channel displays above the song
-BGA previewing is still present, with the BGA preview emerging inside the disc image of your chosen song. The song name, artist, and BPM scroll below the disc image.
-The game has a strange new level system, with three styles, two of which are stars and skulls, with every star representing 2 levels and skulls representing 3 (specifics on what equals what not confirmed yet). The third style has question marks.
-Playable full version songs (OSTs) and tons of new remixes and Another stepcharts in the brand new "Special Station".
-Special Station organizes songs similar to how Extra Mix did. You can play four anothers in one credit or two remixes. And yes, like Extra mix, you can cheat the credit by going Remix/Another/Remix! |
And Special Station once again allows a bonus stage!
Quote: | -Timer now gives you 90 seconds for your song selection.
-"World Tour" station, with many "cities" to conquer. Unlocks unlocked on individual machines.
-Freevolt is no longer involved with Pump it Up. This game was developed by the developer "Nexcade".
-At the end of every credit, regardless of how many songs you played, there is a graphic with the oxygen needed to play what you just played and how many calories you burned in your credit
-Locked songs visible in the song select menu, but with a lock icon placed over it, making it unplayable until unlocked. There are MORE songs which are completely invisible, to be unlocked in the future. |
Let the speculation commence!
And as always, the new title does not fail to impress. _________________

I'm actually somewhat looking forward to this with the whole RoXoR/Konami DDR/ITG situation. _________________

There's rumors that NX might be pulling a Premiere 3... another reboot of the franchise, so who knows, Beethoven just might finally bite the dust...
I won't miss it. New stuff + revivals > unchanged old stuff.
As close to official confirmation as you can get
They've already announced WPF 2007 there, too.
These guys don't waste time. _________________

OMFG I JUST EJACULATED IN MY PANTS READING THIS I AM SO frick EXCITED ABOUT THIS NEWS!!!! This came just in time since iv'e been really depressed about ITG. anyway i don't see why half doubles is so great it sounds like somone who sucks at nightmare might try it = / . i'd rather have new songs then another mode of play taking up more space in the game. On the other hand i'm from NJ and theres like no freaking pump machines around except for one..and it's ex 2 not zero . I been up the managers as5 to upgrade to zero i bet when he dose the new mix will be out and i will be bugging him again. The song revivals sound really hot i was upset that some of my fav songs got axed from zero but maybe they will be back in this version. This is a great new way to introduce hardcore itg players to this game, give the finger to konami and start playing pump insted. lastly i would like to ask some dance game history. i had an argument w/ some fellow pumpers about what game first ddr or piu i thought it was ddr but they said piu was the first dance game ever. could somone explain to me what came first at what time? thanks. pump it up FTW DDR is for FAGGOTS ;D |

theres one thing i don't understand about this site and it's apathy twords piu, is why they don't even bother to announce this news on the front page...that really pisses me off and hell just give pump an entire message board not one freaking fourm like they do here. god this place is so biasd against pump |

Off-topic:According to the info we have now, DDR 1st Mix was released: November 21, 1998.
PIU 1st Dance Floor: October 1999 (I've asked a Supporter to confirm this with AM, but most people say this is correct)
One MIGHT argue that 11 months is enough to develop a separate DDR-like clone, but I don't think that licensing, gamecode, artwork, and various other aspects of the complex PIU 1st Dance Floor game would be able to be completed in 11 months. In fact, PIU and DDR were in development at around the same time, so anyone who says that PIU is a "bad DDR knockoff" should officially be thrown the "ignorance" hammer.
On-topic: In addition to an awesome and LARGE songlist, I'm hoping they readjust the timing back to the X2 timing, since I felt that Zero timing was a bit too accomodating... I want to fight for my Perfects! Other than that, I just want to see Swing Baby and Zzanga again! Here's to hoping for great new songs and great, glorious revivals (ala Hatred)! _________________

DDR was first by about nine months. Wikipedia used to say that the first PIU game hit in August of '99, though it now says October. Incidentally (I have mentioned this elsewhere), we don't really have a nailed down date for Pop'n Stage (Wikipedia says September '99), so Pop'n Stage could concievably have come out right at the same time as PIU (especially if the first game was actually in October and not August). And Pop'n Stage has the same layout as PIU. So all those people wanting to spite Konami over PIU could stand to be rather quiet, since you could easily make the argument that Konami did PIU at the same time as or slightly before Andamiro.
I'm fine with PIU. I've been told Zero fixes most of my long-term complaints with the series. I'm fine with all dancing games. But fanboys do get me riled up, and Mostly_Harmless, you have absolutely no right to be pointing fingers, calling people "biased".
As for the headline...it just hadn't even occurred to me. I guess I'll headline it now. _________________

Unf, reviving Pray? Hooray!!! I've got a whole list of revivals I'd kill for, but this is neither the time or the place LAZENCA AND SWING BABY PLZ.
I'm so excited for this new release. I made the supposed logo my desktop background at work hehe.
I look forward to WPF to hear more about NX. Bring it on, Andamiro!

Miklotov?! Long time no see! I didn't know you were still around the rhythm game community! (You are the Miklotov who knows Mini-Spike in NY, right?)
Lazenca and Swing Baby should come back... AM has this tendency to surprise us with revivals (aka Hatred), so there's a good chance we'll see something (I hope)
Off-topic:
As I've stated, I don't think that licensing, gamecode, artwork, and various other aspects of the PIU 1st Dance Floor game would be able to be completed in 9-11 months, so the idea of PIU must have been in development long before the release date of a game called DDR. Gotta wait for confirmation from Smidget about the development dates, since this is only speculation on my part. _________________

Ah, sorry. I'm not that Miklotov (though it is rather funny that a unique name like this would be used for two different Pump fans). I'm the Konami employee Miklotov, not the old old old Pump player. |

I can't say that PIU was developed in a vacuum, but I don't think one of them ripped off the other (at least in the initial deployment - they've both taken parts of each other through the years). _________________
