I just hope Konami puts some sort of fun factor into ITG rather than the super-extremeo challenging charts.
I would like to see some sort of mesh between the two. The end of DDR and ITG and from their ashes rises a new game. |

No one seems to have really answered my question here. I want to know if roxor never touched the konami cabs and went straight to making there own dedis would this still be a problem since konami had a patent to dance games? Also what exactly went on with konami and andamiro and what was the exact resolution? thx |

I can't answer the first question. I don't know enough about patent law to answer that.
Second question: Onlly Konami and Andamrio know what the resolution was, and they're not telling. Look around on the internet for the exact goings ons. _________________

Hopefully Koonami isn't stupid and doesn't Rid ITG completely.. It was a great game and a lot of people loved it..
I like the idea of Redesigning the Game.. and Mixing DDR and ITG into one ultimate Dance game..
with the ITG Mods, Arrows, DDR Backgrounds and Awesome Songs.. they should all just work together and make one awesome game.. _________________

Well , because Konami has more rights on more songs... they also have a lot more songs in total ... although a lot of them arent that great ... theirs classic songs are still very good .. and all they would need to do is make harder stepcharts for them ... Imagine Max 300 , ITG style , i mean like , the same stepchart with a few imrovememnts and a few adons.. with mines and stuff ... that would make it more interesting .. either Konami kepps ITG and uses it to compete against themselves ... ( smart ) or they combine both machine into an ultimate dance game , which would be even better ... i can see it .. "GROOVELUTION ULTIMATE MIX" i personally think that would be the sickest thing ever. |

unfortunately thats whats going to happen... an arcade here, who recently just ordered ITG2, had his distributor do some research and he was told Konami is going to kill ITG. he got one of the last 20 machines available. i thought this might happen when i heard about it. it will be a very sad day.... stupid move konami. shame shame.... _________________

its funny cuz we just got a Dedicab maybe at the beginning of summer in one of our arcades.. so we lucked out I guess.. the only thing is the people wont let us do anything to the machine.. those azzes..
anywayz.. Konami shouldn't be stupid like that and kill ITG permanently.. I would be discouraged to play if that was the case.. _________________

Considering that Stepmania itself is modeled after DDR (yeah, I know, it has various arrow schemes and arrow modifiers but it's still a very Konami DDR-like arrow arrangement)--I still think RoXoR Games would have had to face an inevitable lawsuit from Konami.
That's because as I understand it, the Stepmania engine was apparently implemented with custom ITG features, and the resultant game of ITG was subsequently sold for profit in the form of Boxors first, then dedicated cabinets later on.
Converting DDR machines to ITG probably just added more credibility to the lawsuit vs. just suing for Stepmania alone--so at that point, not only was a potentially infringing game engine being used for profit, but it was also being used in Konami designed DDR machines.
In contrast, Stepmania itself is a free download--so even though Stepmania may or may not technically infringe on any Konami patents when run on a PC and played with a third party controller, no other implementation of Stepmania is being sold for profit, at least, none that I am aware of.
Disclaimer: not a lawyer, but just these are just my own opinions expressed in this post. |

Well, we'll all (or maybe) find out in Dec and/or Jan...as I am sure and unsure that is when/if Konami may or may not release more/less info. |

If Konami does kill ITG, maybe Roxor and Andamiro can do what they seem to do best: work together to make an awesome product even better. Imagine pump with ITG type features like USB slots for data tracking. Mabye even create a fifth station of ITG type music in one of the newer Pump versions.
I should mention soemthing about this while I'm at WPF. _________________

This was confirmed tonight by a reliable source at our Pump tournament, who has a friend who was doing artwork for ITG3. He was told about it earlier in the week, apparently.
And I'm sorry if this sounds non-credable, but I trust this guy, so. Take it for what you will.

I'm sorry, but you're going to have a hard time finding any company, or just about anyone, who would completely abandon a 95% finished product, gaining absolutely nothing from their hard work.
I heard from a guy who did some artwork doesn't really mean a thing. |

LINK!?!?!
You can't expect us to believe this crap you're spouting without a link. I mean, yes, it is most likely that ITG is discontinued, but I refuse to believe it until a press release from Konami/RoXoR. _________________

wow...so that means I got one of the last machines too (i got mine 2 weeks ago). Hopefully we can at least still get sensors and other replacement parts for a few years. |
the arcade here that just bought one of the last machines was told that andamiro is going to support parts for ITG still. so i wouldnt worry about that.
and grumbles... this maybe just my opinion but Konami didnt do any work on ITG3 so why would they care if they just shoved it into the ground??? _________________

Exactly why I said take it for what you will. I hope to god it's not truth, but once again, I trust the guy. I am far from a rumor monger.
He could be spouting crap for all I know, but honestly it's not like anyone here has a more credible source of information. So whatever. _________________

I had intended to stop posting in this thread, but I wanted to make sure people were able to read this. It's the text of the settlement order before the court which has been accepted, meaning that this is no longer a proposed settlement. Quote: | IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT
