For what it's worth, I think that hands and mines allowed step designers to make fairly difficult stepcharts - that is, the ones you see in the 10 to 11 range on ITG - without having to resort to 300 BPM death runs. Twilight and One False Move are good examples of a tough song that's not just 900 arrows sneezed all over the place. |
So you're telling me having harder songs is an innovation?

You guys need to be more positive.
I highly doubt, Konami will make ITG extinct.
Now they have 2 dance games to manage, so I wonder what next.
There's nothing we can do about it other than boycott Konami. _________________

Boycott Konami?
Are you kidding?
With such good series as Metal Gear, Silent Hill, GRADIUS, are you f'n crazy?
Seriously though, if Konami wanted to, they could live on ITG or run it In the Ground.
Whichever. They're choice.
And Soxor, the reason why no one likes me is because I won't conform. kthanx. No more flames. Flame me in PM, thanks. |

I know it was stated a while back that Konami is a company and shouldn't just let another company copy their work. Koinami is also a company of humans, and humans can occasionally be caring people. Let's compare for a moment.
Konami successful franchises:
Suidoken
Castlevania
DDR
Metal Gear Solid
many other music games.
(former) Roxor successful franchises:
ITG
Konami is making a shitload of money because they have three huge franchises (MGS, CV, and DDR) and several other franchises that are still respectable. Roxor has (had) ITG, and it is mainly for the hardcore crowd. Konami makes 100 times more than Roxor, and suing them hardly saves them any money. Is it worth it for Konami to (most likely) end a great series and piss off a whole lot of people? I know Roxor copied Konami, but a lot of humans do something called "letting it slide." Why couldn't Konami do this? They should be helping Roxor with their series as a newcomer to the video game market, not suing their asses and stealing one of their franchises that, formerly, basically kept them alive. Since Roxor no longer has ITG, they have to depend on their new series, Tux Racer. If this is a flop, I bet Roxor is done. So basically, if this happens, Konami can be blamed for the ending of Roxor. If you are making a huge amount of money, and you potentially put another company out of business, then you, my friend, are a bitch. I hope youre happy with yourself, Konami. _________________

Either way, they weren't especially applicable to the thread, or well written. |

How about applying something yourself instead of trying to continue a pointless debate?
Anyway, does anyone have confirmation on whether or not ITG3 is still going to be released? Being this far into completing the game, it would be disappointing if Konami refused to sell it..They should let Roxor have one last contribution to the dance gaming world. _________________

New? I first saw Tux Racer in 2004 at Temple, and my fellow research participants seemed to love it. _________________

why should konami help a company that told arcades in the groove was a new DDR game and turned konamis own DDR cabinets into ITG cabs?
exactly. it's like nintendo helping out microsoft on the new xbox exclusive. It's just stupid and will lose them money. Sure, i think konamis suings got a bit outta hand, but helping out a company that could end up hurting your profits is just stupid. _________________

Ok, maybe they shouldn't help them with it, but did they really need to get rid of it when they are making tons of money as it is? Maybe if ITG had a firm anchor in the ground, then maybe obtaining it would have been harder for Konami... _________________

I see you are not familiar with Japanese business practices.
They are quite ruthless and simply do not care about the consumer/fanbase. Traditionally, any Japanese company would only be interested in crushing/dissolving their competition.
Lets hope this is not the case with Roxor. |

What's so bad about J-pop? | It's annoying as fuck, all they sing about is a bunch of teenage drama bullcrap that no one cares about, the vocals are so high pitched even the male vocalists sound like 12 year-old girls, and if you're playing one of the stupidest-looking games in the world and some people hear that shit, I can easily understand why they would make fun of you.
Assuming you don't live in Japan, that is, since everything else in Japan is a LOT weirder than DDR. |
Thank you. I agree, although most wapanese fanboys here won't. |
I dont love Jpop, but I just dont see anything really wrong with it. 0_o _________________

Well, I'm all for a boycott personally. Although I won't be too obsessive.
Now if you wanna see obsessive...ask Z Matrix about how he canceled 3 PS3 preorders because the only game he really wanted was MGS4. _________________

like konami would really give a rat's ass anyway. for every person here (who probably doesnt buy american ddr games anyway), there are 10, or 20, or 100 general public people who DO. you will not hurt them in the least bit. _________________
