I can't tell who you're making fun of. I could speculate using reason, but based off of evidence of your previous posts you hate speculation

If Konami were smart, they wouldn't kill ITG (or at least not yet). There are still many people who are loyal to that game and would still play it. If they use that to their advantage, then that would mean for money in the future for them. _________________

fanboys on both sides of the fence. you guys are FUK1N morons.
you know what's better then ddr OR itg? having both at your disposeal.
I love going to marvel or midway (in niagara falls), play a whole crapload of ddr, then play a whole crapload of itg2.
it's great.
I like ddr, cuz it's what i "grew up" on (per say).
I like itg, because after YEARS of playing extreme with NO NEW OFFERINGS from konami, WHO DIDN'T CARE ABOUT NORTH AMERICA it got BORING. (dont even say "LOL! WE GOT EXTREME IN ARCADES!!"). cuz they dont care. the last usa mix was YEARS AND YEARS ago. EXTREME WAS NEVER MEANT TO SEE NORTH AMERICA. KONAMI DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU.
ITG brought fresh songs, charts, and idea's to NORTH AMERICA, after YEARS of nothing.
I find most who hate itg, are "I LOVE IIDX! I LOVE THE FACT EVERY SONG IN EVERY MIX IS THE SAME AS THE LAST, EXCEPT 2 NEW SONGS!"
oh wait, i forgot the LOL in there...so, use your imagination, throw in a few LOL's and it sums up most posts on this board.
oh, and the people who hate itg, cuz butterfly isn't on it (hah). sorry the charts are hard. maybe the charts arn't hard, but the fact that maybe you suck is the reason you hate itg? even locally, all the ddr hardcore fanboys can't pass anything on itg. all they do, is play the same songs on iidx and ddr all day long and refuse to embrace anything new.
like......i grew up on konami. contra 1, blades of steel, and the list goes on.
but, when it's obvious a company doesnt give a sh!t, what else are you to do?
ITG was great, cuz it showed KONAMI that there was a real market here. enuff so, that they felt threatened.
and i think it's ITG we have to thank for supernova...... remember your first thought when you heard of supernova? "HOLY CRAP!"....yeah..... the feeling of being abandoned has all but been forgotten by most it seems.
I love konami. but it's obvious that they don't care untill only recently.
If konami allowed roxor to make itg3/4/5, but just took a percentage, that would be amazing.
cuz, im not gonna choose one over the other. NO ONE SHOULD.
and, just because you like one more then the other, doesnt mean the other sucks. it exists, because people have different tastes. personally, I like both. they BOTH have their good points and bad points.
in closing of my rant (sorry if it seems long....), RESPECT each others choices and tastes. just because you like ddr more, or itg more, doesn't make the other game any less fun for others.
it's not a god damn sports team. you guys act like it is......
edit: as for the "konami may not wanna manage 2 dancing games" mentality..... why not?... why not allow roxor to roll with it, take a percentage and not have to do any work for that percentage? sounds like win win to me.
then again, PEOPLE NEED TO STOP SPECULATING. 12 yr olds on a ddr forum wont change ANYTHING that has happened. go play some ddr AND itg, wait, and enjoy what you already have.
people are ungrateful. |

Rocks must be pretty intelligent these days. They actually know what they're talking about. But as things go, VCR's need to be fed their information.
In the end, a VCR is an empty box. Hollow.
A rock is solid, strong, and bound to last longer. _________________

A VCR is the product of technology, itself a product of the greatest achievements of the most biologically complex lifeforms on the planet. A rock is mundane, common. It's only potential value is to be melted down by human beings for the scarce elements in it, like gold or iron. It doesn't even neccessarily have those things in it. Gold can be used as a semiconductor in a VCR, sure, but even sand could be made into silicon for the circuitry in electronics. A VCR may be hollow but at least it has a purpose. What can a rock do by itself? Last a million years before becoming dirt? A VCR might be hollow, but it has value. It can take on a purpose. A rock has to be destroyed to fulfill its purpose, and not even because the rock has any value. Its because the rock gets in the way of what's valuable and constrains it within iself. A rock is a barrier to value, completely purposeless and with no redeeming value.

What the hell? Isn't SuperNOVA the first of the DDR mixes in which numeric score is directly tied to Dance Points?

People who regularly play DDR might be looking for something new, something more challenging. Granted, I see a lot more light players than heavy players at my arcade, but even the light players play on ITG pretty constantly. The only reason you can possibly say that ITG isn't as popular at this point is becuase ITG isn't as widespread as DDR, simply because DDR is 6 years newer than ITG. |
you'd really be surprised how many people who regularly play(ed) ddr, tried out itg, and went straight back to ddr. its just a shame that most of them arent involved in this reletively small representation of people who play which we call ddrfreak. |
*raises hand*
I usually get my DDR fix at 8 on the Break, where the pads work and the games only cost 50 cents each (and the giant fan by the machine helps too).
Prior to R21, I'd tried their ITG2 machines once or twice, but I only tried either the songs that I already knew ("Queen of Light") or the songs that sounded like I'd like them ("Bumble Bee"). Both of these categories are commodities that DDREX seems to have in much greater supply than ITG2. I'm also one of the people that finds ITG's lack of amusing background animations to be horribly boring.
Now that R21's out, I'll try to figure out how to get my flash/jump/pen drive set up so that I can use it properly, but other than that, I don't see myself going back to ITG much in the future.
I should mention that I mostly play charts in the 7-9 range and don't plan to attempt "Max 300" until I can do both "Across the Nightmare" (challenge) and "Witch Doctor" in the same set without ending up totally exhausted; that is to say, I'm not hardcore enough (yet?) to have exhausted all challenges DDR offers.
I should also mention that yes, I DID pass the ITG songs I tried (which were, IIRC, all 7s and 8s).

whats the contradiction? because it doesnt cater to a large number of people... |
You missed it already. The argument goes: If Konami considers ITG to be a threat to sales, then it must in fact cater to a (relatively) large number of people. _________________

Is it a large enough number though that Konami would make a profit after their investment in the product, though? Because the arguments I've heard so far suggest that ITG players, as "hardcore" players, represent maybe 2% of the market. |

You must be broken, as expected. VCR's don't last long and are being replaced(as if they haven't already) with newer technology that keeps growing smarter and able to understand more information, as you fail to do so. What I was trying to get across is that Cutriss, as a rock, has been around for a long time and knows what he's talking about because he has an understanding of how things work, while a VCR has only been around for a short amount of time and is already fading away, not living up to the capabilities of current technology. _________________

*Massive facepalm*
Now we're arguing about VCRs and rocks of all things? Not to mention the incoherant mess that is the post above mine which is trying to capitalize off a cute simile made a few posts ago that has lost all novelty.
I'll feed the dying fire of discussion some rampant, unfounded speculation: I think, if anything, Konami's acquisition of the rights to In The Groove will allow new DDR games to capitalize on some of the innovative ideas from RoXoR that were likely not used until now because it would be very bad to be seen as drawing inspiration from what Konami considered an "inferior product." I somehow doubt we'll see any large increase in the number of Challenge charts in DDR games, and I doubt we'll see another release of In The Groove, part of DDR or no. However, I also don't think Konami would let a pile of rights to a somewhat niche yet popular (within its niche) franchise go to waste. However, I think if anything, SuperNOVA's shown that Konami is trying to appeal to the crowd that wants harder material. They got chewed out by another crowd: the one that wants lots of Xepher style 9's and 10's, and in the spirit of that I think they are heading to a direction of utilizing Challenge more. It might be wishful thinking, but Konami has really been listening to fan input, despite what naysayers would love to believe. _________________

A rock has much worse memory than a VCR. The best it can hope for is some savages to draw cave paintings on it. Then it has to be in a secluded location where the paintings won't weather off instantly. If a VCR breaks, it's covered by warranty. Sure, something better might come along that trumps it, but it still serves a purpose. It's still more valuable than a rock.
On subject, it would be nice if nothing else to see 3+ arrow patterns in DDR. |

This thread went from dead-boring to mildly amusing once Kilroy started defending VCRs. And since that's what this thread has come to, here's my contribution: a VCR would break if you threw a rock at it. I win.
Also, I figured out what annoys me more than people who just whine: people who act like they know what's going to happen and look down on everyone who doesn't agree with them. I think this thread needs to be locked until we hear more about what's going to happen to ITG, if only to silence these people. At this point, are there really any relevant things left to talk about? _________________

Not bad. But the rock has to be thrown, a rock couldn't break it on its own. Incidentally if you threw a VCR at a VCR, both VCR's would break and it would look much cooler.
Quote: | Also, I figured out what annoys me more than people who just whine: people who act like they know what's going to happen and look down on everyone who doesn't agree with them. |
Well, there are good guesses and bad guesses. I've seen both for both positions in this thread. If you get it down to the good ones at least you have a better idea of what might happen and its likelihood.
Quote: | At this point, are there really any relevant things left to talk about? |
Yes, but I imagine it will probably just continue with the VCR's as that's the only interesting thing that people seem to have any inclination or ability to ramble on about. |
