Hey there.
So I don't know much about ITG, but I've been playing DDR for quite a while now.
I hit a plateau early on this year, struggling with 9s for half a year, until BAM! all of a sudden, I can beat all of them. And suddenly, I can beat a few 10s as well.
That's good and all, but suddenly yet again, I feel that DDR's running out of challenges for me. Sure there's PSMO, Max 300 SMMM, TLoM, FAXX, etc. etc., but that's like six or seven songs.
Now, I've heard that ITG has more of the harder songs (i.e. 9-10 foot range). Is this true? Because I'm seriously starting to get bored of DDR, here.

Not just hard 9's and 10's, but also 11's, 12's, and 13's. If you're looking for a difficult 4 panel game, ITG is the way to go. If you're looking for the most difficult dancing game, take up Pump it up.

itg's expert charts get a LOT more difficult. they are rated on a 12 block scale, along with a 13th block for ridiculously difficult songs.

just so you can get an idea of how ddr's 10 block scale compares to itg's 12 block scale, just imagine this: PSMO would classify as the easiest 11 if it were an itg song. (go ahead people, be attention whores and argue what i said. it's true, PSMO would be an 11.)

itg is also much more visually appealing, with cleaner, simpler menus and extremely easy-to-read arrows with tons of possible modifiers.

anyways, if you are looking for new challenges in a 4 panel game, look no further than itg.

Mmm, so if PSMO's a easy 11, I'd probably start out with 9s or maybe 10s.
Are there a lot of 10-13s?

10-13's make up a fairly small portion of the game. Something else to keep in mind is ITG songs are on average longer than DDR songs. A good introductory 10 is my favorite game. A good introductory 10 that will teach you hands is queen of light. A good introductory 11 is Charlene, then perhaps infection.

reguardless. don't be a fanboy and limit yourself to one game.

ITG is great for it's reasons
DDR is great for it's reasons.

play both, enjoy them both, keep improving.

ignore the japanese anime morons on this board, who hate itg cuz it's american. infact, they hate anything non japanese. movies/games/music/food, etc etc etc. extremely close minded.

ENJOY IT ALL!!!!

mm, I shall. PSMO is a very medium level 11, I'd say quite on par with The Beginning. there are a few 11s that are definitely easier though.

Xuxa is underrated in difficulty.

How do you figure. When you compare Xuxa to some of the more difficult 11s, *Destiny, Hardcore Symphony, Monolith*, one realizes that there is a LARGE gap in difficulty between Xuxa and those other songs of the same difficulty.

Hell, Mythology is more difficult on both a technical and stamina aspect in comparison to Xuxa, but come now, this argument's been done 7508450986 times.

You know, there is more to ITG than just 10+ difficulty songs.... even though the way I see it, both games are equal in fun.... DDR has better quality 7-8 foot charts, ITG has better 10-11 charts, and they are about equal in 9's to me. any difficulties out of that range aren't noteworthy to me, although I do enjoy an occassional 6 (which DDR is better at here, especially more recent console charts), and the only 12 that I thought was fun to play (!) was officially bumped down to an 11, as shown on ITG PC. Doubles however, I enjoy quite a bit more on ITG. Most of ITG's best charts are in Doubles. And then theres the music, well, I enjoy DDR music a lot more, I just think it's a lot more memorable and professional, but a lot of people love the catchy songs of ITG.

If you like DDR there is no real good reason why you wouldn't enjoy ITG, it's the same damn game.... so give it a whirl....

A crapload of 10s
Many 11s
ten 12s
three 13s

And there's doubles...

ITG gives you an expanded array of options. Mines add more challenge to stepcharts, hands add choreography and style to dancing, and rolls look plain silly, especially on Esperanza expert.

Who knows, ITG2 for PS2 (if they're still gonna make it) may be out by then.

Highly incorrect and reeks of trying to be controversial just for the sake of it. Lose.

Mostly 9's and 10's
4 12's
3 13's
