Hello everyone,
Just a quick question regarding various metal pads. I'm looking into one as my RO Ignition is quickly starting to die out. I have both a PS2 and an X-Box, with DDR games on each system. I've noticed all the metal pads I've looked into are either only PS2, or only one or the other. I've heard bad things about the Afterburner, so I'm looking into more high-end pads such as the MyMyBox BlueShark or a Cobalt Flux. Does anyone know if it's possible to get a decent metal pad which can connect to both the PS2 and the X-Box? Thanks. Also, I have tried using the Search function to look for topics on this, but it always times out on me, so it hasn't been of much (or any) help. |

Not really, Cobalt Fluxes and Bluesharks are the only durable and decent metal pads. You can play them on PS2's and X-Boxes you'll just need a different adapter/c-box. |

Yeah, I'd personally recommend a blueshark, but most people are in love with cobalts... _________________

I have a Cobalt Flux, and it's not the "perfect pad" as alot of people make them out to be. First of all, the panels sink in rather than rebounding like on the Blueshark making the panels less sensitive for ITG hands unless you hit them near the edge of the panel which is where they are most sensitive. You can't slap the arrows either, you have to push or hit them. The Cobalt Flux is still an awesome pad though. I think I'm going to ask for a Blueshark pad though instead of another Cobalt Flux for Christmas just to see the differences. |

The best way to spend money on a metal pad ?
if you want the best metal pad, you need to buy a blueshark metal pad. It is the best metal pad ever.
If you want to buy a cobalt flux, then I would recommend you to try a nexen pad. my friend bought a nexen pad and it is pretty much the same as cobalt flux. Nexen pad baseboard is little bit thicker than cobalt flux. other than thickness it is pretty much the same. Cobalt flux and Nexen pad both use 11 inch X 11inch plastic arrws. Then these two pad both use metal contact switches. Not like other metal pads such as TX series, Ninja or AfterBurner. Cobalt flux is $299.99 + $50 Shipping. Nexen is $199.99 + $42.00 shipping. you can save about $100.00 and you can get the pretty decent metal pad.
I still like my blueshark metal pad over my 1 year old cobaltflux pad.
If you can spend around $350 then buy a blueshark metal pad. if your budget it little bit tight, then go for NEXEN metal pad. it is alot cheaper than cobalt flux and it has the pretty much the same structure and feeling. |

Okay, so it looks like I'm going to look into a BlueShark. I see they do have an adapter to go from PlayStation to X-Box, USB, and even Gamecube. Hopefully that will work in place of a separate control box. Thanks for the help everyone. |

I don't quite think that they are pretty much exactly the same. The Nexen looks less durable than the Cobalt Flux, and it also looks like it would feel different when played on. |
