KBM and IIDX are both different games. I don't really think it'll help. KBM has a hard learning curve but it gets easy. IIDX has a easy learning curve but gets harder at the end.

Keyboardmania... so many keys! I couldn't help looking down half the time to see if I was in the right spot... kind of fun after getting the hang of it a bit.

I know, but the reason I think IIDX and Pop'n would help, is because they could help with reading patters (as I know there will be some complicated patterns with all those keys) and such. It has a lot of keys, so Pop'n would probably help with getting used to having more and more buttons to press. KBM looks really hard.

I don't really think more button would help for reading... IIDX feels more like a keyboard anyway.

My point exactly. KBM is fun when you have the time to get good. E10.gif

Around here, the Keyboardmania machine is neglected as it sits right next to a GF 9th DM 8th machine and shares the arcade with a DDREX and IIDX 8th Style machine. I still play it a lot though. Can't say that I'm waiting for a 4th Mix anymore, but that doesn't mean I'm not keeping my fingers crossed.

Wow. You are SOOO lucky to have that arcade. I don't have any machines around my area except a ddr max2... it sucks

I've been playing keyboardmania a lot more in the arcade lately. (mainly when I'm waiting in line for pop'n).

But I did see a Keyboardmania CS bundle at a store near me... $120 for game and AC controller.... >>

must pick it up.

I'm not sure, but I think that's a really good price for the bundle.

imo it's a lot harder to learn, but once you get the hang of it, it gets easier, whereas IIDX mostly gets harder.

They're not terribly uncommon to find. I've played KBM in three different places. They have one at AI if you're willing to make the drive.

Alright, I'm thinking about trying DoReMi Mania (we don't have and KBM's around here). The only question is, what does the midi cable's plug-ins look like? I have a keyboard that supports midi output, but where you plug in the cord, it looks like the OLD cords for the Commodore. So do I need a Midi>USB Adapter/Cord, or are Midi Output cables like that?
