Does anyone know how to acess the wiring system of the afterburner?has any one else had this problem. does any one have a wiring diagram for the afterburner. suggestions plz |

What is the weight limit? I want one of these and I hear people weighing at 200lbs are seeing bending"
I weigh well over 200lbs, somewhere around 260 so I figure I put little over 300lbs of force on a pad while I am dancing. Can anyone expand on this? |

well, i cracked one of my panels and i'm only 100 some pounds..(i have no idea how that happened) ...and the pad does seem to ..wobble..if it's on carpet. the carpet i'm on is pretty thick though. i put my afterburner on a board though and it doesnt really wobble as much. |

yep, these JUST came to my house right now,
no mod, and I would like to share the sensitiveness and how good it is.
Despite my fatass, it's actually not because I was wearing HUGE Training
Pants, which always slip down, so I had to tie my belt. Enjoy.
The one beside was the one I was using before, plywood-modded softpad.
I weight 220 pounds, and it works just perfectly, even if I STOMP it
WITHOUT ANY MOD on the pad whatsoever. I use PS2, with DDR Extreme.
I'll post up the video once I upload it.
AB is not bad at all, since I got shipped mine in Canada, (yep, I'm a
Torontoman) which I had to play shipping, handling, duty tax, etc.
It's worth buying. =)
Not as bad as it seems from the review....=)

I live in Canada, and how they delivered from there to here,
I had no problem in Cbox, no problem with playing (Unmodified)
and is perfectly working fine. I also STOMPED at my pad, but nothing
gets shattered. However, soon I'll be doing the Arrow Mod with Lexan
(polycarbonate) and that'll make it better. It's $250 for a reason. The
price deserves it. I paid $420 CAD with shipping & handling. I'm not
that stupid enough to invest money on a crap pad that won't last.
With better care, and without less purposely-stompings, it's a very fine
pad. Just played Max 300, Legend of Max, and Max 300 (Super-Max-Me-Mix)
and got B, B, A.
Unmodified, and there's not a single shatter. btw, I didn't use the bar.
From since the start of my DDR career, I didn't even know DDR had a bar
until I went to the arcades. Bar kinda disturbs me...=/ |

sakuratk2049, your pad looks totally awesome! My friend and I both live in Toronto and we just ordered two of those. Total came to 602.49 US. But we have a few questions for you:
1- Was it a pain to unwrap the dance pad? Like, is it true that you need to unscrew each panels in order to take out the plastic. It doesn't really look like it from your pictures
2- Did you pay customs when it was delivered from UPS?
3- How long did it take to arrive?
4- How do you do the lexan moding on the arrows? We would like to do such a thing. We would like to protect our investment.
It would be totally cool if we could meet somewhere! I will post picture too as soon as we get the dance pad _________________

... I also have another question...
I noticed a lot of you are playing with socks, does it improve the AB durability? Thanks _________________

Am I still the only one that got ripped off by RO? I got it as a christmas present last year and the family ordered it about 5 months in advanced so by the time I got it, the warranty was out. I open it out of the box, it was warped and sort of raised in the middle creating a slight bubble effect. It squeaks louder than day and in order to cancel it out, the volume must be all the way up. The screws were too tight creating an ugly finish on the metal and the sad thing is, since it was out of warranty before I even touched it, They would not do a single thing about it. _________________

my up arrow no longer works, I can only sometimes get it to register in the bottom rightcorner of the panel (I've already tried various tightness and looseness of the screws). Anyone know a quick fix for such a problem? |

I am thinking aobut getting one and I am not the richest person. Iam kinda poor and actually have the money just for the pad and here's a few questions....
-How much would the AB Cost In Canadian?
-Since the pad is lowered it won't feel like an ITG cab pad?
-Does the USB hook up work no lag on usb 1.0?
-Or should I save a lil more for a CF? _________________

i'd say go with a cobalt flux. The afterburner is NOT gonna last you nearly as long as the flux, so in the longrun a flux is a better buy. Also, you have you replace the arrows constantely(my friends nearly shattered, got a new set and they came broken, so he made some out of lexan). The lowered arrows really piss me off on afterburners too, its like half an inch!!(or about a CM for all you not americans) _________________

Haha, that immediately reminds me of the DDR Extreme pads; I hate how recessed they are. You could also save up for a Blueshark instead if you wanted a true arcade feel and a really sensitive pad. |

So I bought 2 Afterburners back in February of this year and now after 9 months of play one of the pads is starting to miss steps. I took off the arrows to see if the copper tape was messed up and it didn't seem too bad which makes me think it is a loose connection somewhere.
Obviously it's long past the warranty so I don't have any problem opening it up and checking it out for myself. I have some friends that are electrical engineers so I think that if I could just find the problem I could get it fixed myself.
What is the best way to get access to the wiring to check a loose connection? _________________
