That really sucks, I was looking forward to having someone to travel with.
I have managed to see some decent airfare so far, even a direct flight that arrives at ICN at like 0635 on the 17th. I'll start getting things booked during the week. _________________

I got the Pump it Up bundle for PS2 about 2-3 weeks ago and I only played it once because I got my Cobalt Flux and I wanted to play DDR/ITG more. I'd enjoy PIU alot more if there was a spot on my softpad where they wasn't a sensor. I'm so used to standing in the center of the pad when I'm choosing a song, but in PIU if I step in the center, you select the song. Where am I supposed to stand? |

two options there, stand on the straight arrows, or just off the pad to select songs. _________________

Straight arrows? You mean the left and right ones? They still do something when I'm selecting my song although I forget what. And I also don't really get how to use speed mods in arcade mode, and when I'm in home mode after failing a song, the song keeps playing over and over and over again even though I'm not stepping on any part of the pad. The crossovers in PIU also seem kind of weird to me, but I'll eventually get used to it. ...and is it just me or is it really alot easier to get perfects than in DDR/ITG? The timing windows aren't very strict. One last question...to everyone that plays PIU at home, what do you play on? The softpad that came with the bundle seems like the middle sensor is bigger than the other four. Maybe it's just me.
If you or anyone else could answer this, I'd really appreciate it. I'd like to be decent all 3 main dance games; DDR/ITG/PIU. |

If the song is restarting over and over in Home Mode, either the X button on one of your PS2 controllers is being pressed down (unlikely) or the center sensor on your softpad is jammed. Normally if you fail a song in Home Mode, it should ask if you want to retry or not. Choose Yes and you play the song again; choose No and you go back to song select. I think you may just want to shake the pad a bit, and see if it stops.
The pad that came with Exceed SE is by no means the best, but with proper maintenance (aka keep the pad flat) then the pad will last longer than it has for me.
For timing, I set my game to Hard Timing in all Modes in the Options. But even Hard Timing won't be as strict as DDR Judge Max Difficulty, but it'll still require a good PA to deal with.
Finally, I myself do not use the Exceed SE pad but rather the USB pads that came with the old PC version and the Pump It Up Prex 3 for PC. It's unlikely you'll ever find those for sale again, and it's out of stock on every site that sells PIU stuff. However, take heart! For you can buy a pad that's just as good even if the Exceed SE pad fails!

It's pretty pricey, but it is excellent quality and will last a really long time (personal experience)! These and the PC pads are my pads of choice for PIU, and I wish they had included that in the bundle.
Oh well... if you need help with unlocks, I can post about them, and some of those unlocks will probably require your controller, since doing by pad is just way too tiring. Good luck! _________________

Quote: | And I also don't really get how to use speed mods in arcade mode... |
To activate the speed mods, step on UL, UR, UL, UR, then the middle during song selection. Do this as one continuous stepping motion, though it doesn't have to be done as fast as possible.
If the speed mod code was entered correctly, there will be no other confirmation except that the greyed out speed mod will light up x2. Do the same speed mod code again, and the x2 code will now show x3. Repeat the code again for x5, and again for x8 if that high a speed mod is needed.
(Don't be distracted by what happens on the screen either--when entering this code the channel will change back and forth twice, then the difficulty selection will appear. This is because the upper arrows change the channel, and the middle button selects a song. Just step on the the UL or UR arrow after confirming the speed mod worked, to back out of the difficulty selection back to the song wheel to select another song. It's really just a design issue with the way speed mods have to be entered.
Speed mods can also be entered or cancelled in between songs, so using them is not just limited to the start of the game.
Cancel all codes is DL, DR, DL, DR, DL, DR, DL, DR while in the song select mode.
(The song selection wheel will change back and forth between two songs while entering the cancel all codes step code because DL and DR are used to select songs, so again, don't let that become a distraction.) |

This question has probably been asked before but I just started PIU. I bought the bundle because our arcade got PIU Zero and they don't have DDR. The song Come to Me by BanYa in PIU Exceed for the PS2 has different hard steps than the arcade. The arcade is a 5 and the home version is an 8. My question is why? I really like that song. It has fun steps. im liek such a piu n00by |

Just to be correct, only six steps are needed, not the eight you posted. Left right left right left right (all blue). |
