I can't find any pics of DDR King in Google Images. Do any of you have any? |

Don't fret over DDR King, seriously. There was a thread about it awhile ago for sale on ebay. All it is is DDR 1st mix with gold painted pads and says "Dance Dance King" instead of "Dance Dance Revolution" (unless that was photoshopped). There's only one or two made and they were from China. That's it, not even really a bootleg, just a paintjob. _________________

i dunno if people already posted this but another difference with "extreme plus" from the pics i have seen of it...the arrows appear to be more boxy and not as round as they usually are http://myweb.cableone.net/flpetry/ddrextremeplus/pages/DSCF0792.html
(this link isnt mine btw i got it from someone who posted earlier, thanks to whoever posted this for the pic links) |

They basically look like a hybrid between the DDR and ITG noteskins. Same shape as ITG, with the DDR style/color. _________________

That noteskin actually looks cool, is it available for Stepmania?
EDIT: Now that I look through that EX Plus gallery, I can see why nobody likes it. But at least it's better constructed then Megamix. If only it wasn't ugly. |

I don't know if it's just that the pads are janky or what but i get A LOT of pad greats on the Megamix near my house. Is there something wrong with the timing / has anyone else noticed this? _________________

Since it's a Megamix, it could be both. |

Yeah, me too. A lot of people say that the timing window on Megamix is harder. _________________

Whoa, if that's true then I can be wayyy better on a real extreme. in my city ... we only have a megamix.
when we first got our megamix, it was almost brand new. cept for the scratches and some torn stickers. Then over time like almost 3 years go. After a while the pads started getting harder to hold freezes, the lights on the subs stopped working. The lights on the 2p start buttons stopped lighting up... then DUN DUN DUNNNNNNN! The 2p pad died and only the down arrow works right. Then after I got back from a trip to vegas, the machine started crashing on certain songs and they would still play music but no arrows and the screen would stay still then speed up like 3 times faster and it's like ur playing sm. The left pad is still working right cept for some of the sensors toward the middle of the pad. And Galaxy won't let us play operation on the pad...
how would I stop the machine from crashing? someone help me! it's our pride and joy... it's the only machine that's not 2 hours from our city! _________________

and i may have also detected a bit of lag between hitting the pad and registering the note on the screen
or maybe im just paranoid |
videoCWK wrote: | I don't think it's a lag. I think Extreme Plus has timing window problems. I think Great windows are bigger and Perfect windows are smaller. But I'm probably wrong. |
Vash573 wrote: | I've played on an Extreme Plus and Megamix. In Extreme Plus, the Perfect-Great time window seemed like the home console version - a bit too easy to get all perfects. In Megamix, it felt harder. |
shadow0290 wrote: | Does anyone know if MegaMix's timing is harder? I heard this discussed before (in this thread?) and I think it may be a bit true. I have played on three Megamixes, all were in excellent condition (machine and pads in excellent condition... very responsive) and it seemed like I was getting way too many Greats. Too bad such nice machines have such crap on them. Anyone notice the same thing? |
hurleyguyy wrote: | I played one of these at astroworld, it seemed easier to do stuff, because i AAA'd like almost everything i played there. like waka-laka, stoic, and my summer love. Their timing window just must be alot bigger |

I have a hard time believing that the guys who hacked these bootlegs were competent enough to change the timing windows (given how poorly the rest of the game is modified). I think people are just having adjustment issues and/or bad days. _________________

If it is messed up, it can make it harder. If it IS harder/messed up, it was most likely an accident (like freeze blocks).

I played an Extreme Plus about a year ago in Vegas. Theres really no difference between that and regular Extreme, except the arrows are shaped more like ITG and the song selection is a bit lighter in color. (As in being kinda yellow) It was over a year ago, so I don't totally remember. I do remember that the marque on the top looked really awful though.

Nope. Six Flags New England juss switched their MAX2 to a megamix. Sadly, they havn't disappeared.

Thanks for the link. I havn't seen one of these in a while. BTW I found more pics of the Extreme plus from the same site:
Marque
Cabinet
Arrow NoteSkins
Scores
"New Features Screen"
Get Fit!
Title Screen
Slippery When Wet
Beginner Difficulty
light difficulty
standard difficulty
heavy difficulty
song selection
WTF?
There are a ton more pics that I won't post. Juss change the last 3 numbers in the URL starting from 790 to 818. _________________
