Hey im writing a paper for my college writing class and the topic I chose is "The Evolution of Rhythm Games"

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to help me get the basic history of DDR and other bemani. And how they have changed from the releases between home and arcade mixes.

I figured i would use this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dance_Dance_Revolution

Im going to need more sources than than sooo any help would be much appreciated. My project will cover such things as:

1. Differences between DDR-ITG-PIU
2. Other dance games that have spawned (yes i realize if i cover all of them i would have quite a long list) I only plan to cover the main popular ones.
3. What skills are involved in playing and how to improve them.
4. Difference between jap music games and US music games
DDR-ITG, GH-GF, rez- uhh idk amplitude idk so on and so forth.

i know a lot of those answers, i was just listing them to give you an idea of what the essay will cover.

I begin my research tomorrow so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also i thought there used to be a history of DDR thread back her a year or two ago. Maybe three years ago.

Don't forget about PaRappa The Rapper! I believe that was one of the very first pioneers in the music game genre.

Aside from a single song in Dancing Stage 1.5, a single song in Ultramix 2, and four songs in Solo 2000, no more than two panels need to be pressed simultaneously at any given time.
