Playing a music game while not dancing = playing a non dancing game
Playing a music game while dancing = dancing while playing a non dancing game
To stay on subject I might import Pop'n for the winter holidays. You say 9 is the best to start with? Also are those mini pop'n controllers they sell at play-asia good enough to start with? I don't feel like droping $200+ on an arcade like controller. |

8 or 9 are good to start with. 9 had a worse unlock system, but plenty of fun songs. check on popnnavy to see what songs are in each mix.
mini controllers only get you so far, and are relative to iidx. if you REALLY want to play popn then get an asc. but you dont have to right away. _________________

Play-Asia is sold out of both 8 and 9. Is 11 a good one? I really fancy the songlist. Isn't 11 the one with little english though? If so is that a major problem for beginners? |

thats right, theres almost no english in 11. but its still easy to tell when you get an unlock and which mode youre entering. 11 is great. _________________

Thursday is the release of Pop'n Carnival CS.
Which means most places will *probably* start shipping it tomorrow.
Anybody else have Carnival preordered? It's looking to be a damn awesome release, and one I'll actually be proud of owning (own 8, 9, 12, and carnival, and "have" the rest, all of which I feel were worth the ~85 bucks post shipping excluding 9).
Returning songlist looks AMAZING, and 13 has a lot of difficult songs to keep a player like me interested, and a lot of GOOD easier songs to enjoy playing when I get tired of playing 40+s :x _________________

I have my pop n 13 preordered from yesasia though I think I am starting to regret it.
The e-mail I got said they might ship on the 3rd of october. Why would they do that, ship days after the day the game is released?
I thought I was getting a good deal, with the free shipping and that the price is cheaper than other places. I probably could have gotten it at my mall but $20 extra.
Even so pop n 13 may become one of my favorite pop n games, I like most of the songs I got to hear and I like the variety there is here, almost like how they did with pop n 10. I played some of the pop n 13 songs at AI and enjoyed them and others I haven't listened to. And I like the graphics, this looks like the first pop n game that looks like it's taking advantage of the ps2, with the colors and graphics. Maybe I am wrong.
I am also glad that just about every new song has an EX
My only gripe from the looks of it, too many songs from pop n 12 cs coming back.
But I still can't wait to play those songs at home: Racing (my most played song at AI), Fortune Tale Beat, RP Battle, Asian Mixture, Casino, Train Sim, Jam, Noctune, and of course the new Kill Bill song and many more. |

I usually just think of them as adding more songs to the songlist. You're already getting most, if not all, of the AC songs, and usually 8-14 CS songs, and 4 (although 8 now) eemall songs, so anything else they throw on top of that in the form of revivals I just see as a gift, a way to play songs I like to play, but not having to play them on the native game.
That being said, I think this could possibly top Iroha, simply because many of the good Iroha songs were the unlocks, and almost all of the unlocks are in this, apparently. _________________

The new Pop'n comes out this week? If the PS3 is region free, would it be able to play Japanese PS2 games? |

Hey...why not pop n 13? It just came out and it's songlist looks just as good, maybe better than pop n 8...though i don't want to know the rest of the hidden songs yet.
I'll never order from yes asia again. Where do you people order/reserve your copy online to get it so fast?
My local mall probably has pop n 13 now but over $70 |

I preorder ALL of my imports from playasia. I ordered my copy on saturday before release, and got it ON THURSDAY.
I just finished unlocking everything, cleared Hell 13 and Shin Hell 13 first try, sight read cleared a bunch of the new 40s and 41s (most of them actually), and am rather close to clearing Nightmare Carousel. I need to get a second 42 under my belt _________________

I'm in the middle of writing my Christmas wishlist, and I'm going to get a Pop'n Music ASC, and a Pop'n music game. I'm not too sure which one to get though. I don't need one with a seriously easy Beginner mode and I'll get the basics of Pop'n Music downpat relitively fast. Does anyone know where I can find a complete songlist of all of the Pop'n Music games? The songs are a huge factor in deciding which game to get.
Anyway, can someone post their favourite Pop'n Music game and why it's your favourite?
Also, I've seen different Pop'n Music ASC's, and I was wondering which one was the best. The one that has the light up buttons seems pretty awesome.
Thanks in advance. |

Pop'n Navy has a complete list songs on each version. If you have trouble finding it on the site let me know and I'll tell you how to get there.
As far as my favorite Pop'n, it's hard to say. I love 8 for the songs, but I don't care much for it's interface. I like 10 a lot because of some great songs on there and that was the first one I got (since it came with a mini), 11 is ok IMO, had a lot more fun with 10. 12 was pretty good but I quickly moved to 13, which has a lot of great songs, many that I was surprised to see. I've been playing for about a year and hardest songs I play are 36 right now. I got the games in order of 10, 8, 11, 12, 13.
I own the Desktop Arcade Pop'n ASC, which I wrote a review for at bemanistyle.com in the review section of the forum. As far as lights go, I bought the one with lights as well, but I honestly don't use them. There great if you plan on making videos or showing off to your friends. I'll probably end up using mine more though once I move out. |

I can't seem to find the songlists for the Pop'n Music games. Can you link me to it?
And I'm completely "Pop'n Music illiterate" meaning that I basically know nothing about the game or ASCs. Is this the "Desktop Controller"?
If I remember correctly, I've seen ASCs similar to that one that are different colours. I googled Pop'n Music on Google.ca, and I saw a yellow one. Are they different styles, or just different colours?
I was thinking of getting this controller off Play-Asia, but is this the average price for a Pop'n music controller? It's like $400.00 - $450.00 without shipping and handling for the controller alone. Does that one have lights?
What site would you recommend buying an ASC from?
And would you perhaps have any idea how to get custom decals on your ASC? Someone on these forums had Hentai on their controller, and when I typed "Popn Music" on Google, I saw a controller with two of the characters on it.
Sorry for all of the question, I just want to make sure I get quality for the price that is going to be paid. |
