I only clean my pads thoroughly when they pad-miss.
Then again, I treat them pretty nicely. (store them flat, keep them clean, etc)

Two months? I clean my CFs every six.

I remember reading some CF guide somewhere telling you how you can make it last for a long time. It said clean every two months.

Ordered (CF pad w/ arcade mod) on: September 22.
Received: October 2.*

*It will be here tomorrow. My mom called FedEx, and they said that they had it and that they'd call us tomorrow in the morning and let us know what time it would be here.

Any advice for making/simply constructing a bar? I try to use a chair but the mat keeps slipping forward and it gets pretty difficult to hit the arrows when there is a 20 foot gap between the pad and the bar. :s

[EDIT: I found that duct taping the legs of the chair to the back of the pad works surprisingly well.]

Check out this web site http://www.hollaender.com/ They have really cool connectors and rail. I am about 1/2 way into my base mod project, this is what I will use when the time comes....

I say this time nad time agan:

Techeies: DONT USE THE DAMN BAR, seriously, build your way up in the footers for DDR, DONT be a lamer nad rely on bar-raping, its lame and it screws up your overall balance in life.

Freestylers: Same thing as avobe, except ONLY use hte bar if you want to do flares, gainers, one-hand stalls/vaults OR backflips.

Other then that go for it, im not saying this to sound like an bumhole or anything, im saying this because I have been playing DDR for 7 years now and I know (from personal experience and various injuries) many of you want to get good, so I hope this helps.

See yaz bye.

Get over yourself - who are you to tell anyone else how to play or enjoy DDR - it's a freakin' game.

I have played for almost three years, have NEVER used the bar and have passed Max300 and MaxX Unlimited.

BFD!!! That DOES NOT mean 1) I think I'm better than anyone else, 2) I think that the way I play is the only right way to play, 3) that my opinion is any more valid than anyone else's especially just because their opinion is different than mine, or 4) that I need to have an attitude about...

geesh - again, just get over yourself already...

Dude, I'll play the way I want and you play the way you want. I only use the bar on 10's to build my stamina so I don't need to use it. And very much agreed--ITS A FLIPPIN' GAME.

Loosening the screws on the panels makes it so you don't have to put as much force down on the arrows in order for them to register. It's very simple to do. Just turn them about halfway.

after cleaning/fixing a LAN gaming center cobalt fluxes, i have to say i am very impressed by these pad. They've had them for over 2 years, have had pop spilt on them, have been played on by wet shoes and have been nearly through hell and after i cleaned them they work like new again!

also, i found having the screws nice and tight made it so you can hit the arrows faster...i mean when i had them a bit looser it seemed like it took more force to hit the arrows. This could be due to how much their fluxes have experienced, but i'm not sure.

do i think the cobalt flux is worth $300 for only home use? no. it's a little unnecessary; a home-built pad or a nexan would seem a bit more reasonable for home use.

but hey, thats just me.

How exactly is it unnecessary? If you have the money for a Flux, go for it.
It'll last you for years, you won't have to worry if you spill something sticky in it because it's easy to clean, and it's extremely durable. I don't know if I can say the same thing about the MMB Nexan pad.
