Complaining to G4/X-Play for Beatmania & PPP

I apologize for the new topic, but I didn't want to spam up both existing topics.

In light of X-Play's incredible coverage of PPP and their highly educated opinions of Beatmania, I think those who care about music games can only ask: what's next to be targeted? Some of you may not give a crap about PPP, heck might even agree that it looks "gay," but what if someone did the same to your favorite game/hobby? Since you're on a DDR website, how would you feel if someone had the balls on public television to show your favorite game off in the worst light possible? Next time you're playing DDR, Beatmania, Guitar Freaks, or whatever, you probably don't feel too confident anymore.

X-Play and G4 aren't exactly known for their opinions on games or gamers, I say if you have an opinion for them, let them hear it. Or at least be annoying so they'll know to think twice before airing another completely uninformed (and borderlining, if not already tastelessly offensive) review.

Do contact them and spread the word, even if you don't like Beatmania or Para Para Paradise, but at least let them know that there's people who give a shi+ about the games they bash with complete ignorance (except Guitar Hero of course).

But if you choose to e-mail or call them, please do it in good taste (i.e. please don't threaten them =P).


Personally, I'd rather have them shut down the atrocious show or just maybe take that show in another direction...which probably won't happen anytime soon.

Maybe someone should complain on the X-Play boards.

Also, can someone also tell them how BADLY they're pronouncing anime names?! Na-ru-do, Sak-su-ske......GOD, it annoys me! They even say the names in the GAME! Though that emotion-less co-host (not Morgen Webb) said "Isn't it pronounced "Na-roo-tow"?

Just wait till they review "Eureka 7"....Any bets for 2s, people?

I think there are a lot of problems with X-Play, such as them saying BMUS was a rip-off of Guitar Hero. WTF? Couldn't they have done 5 minutes of internet research to find out that BM came out long before Guitar Hero (and that Guitar Hero is a copy of GF/DM)?

Whatever.

I wouldn't complain, though, for at least they reviewed it. A bad review by the (semi) open-minded is better than no review by the closed-minded.

You guys all seem to be under the (mistaken) impression that Adam and Morgan review all the games. They don't. They do some reviewing, but not much - most of the reviews are done in-house by other staff, and then the reviews are written up into on-air scripts which are read by Morgan and Adam. They may enjoy games, and they certainly do get immersion by virtue of the fact that their livelihood depends on it, but I certainly wouldn't bother complaining to them about it.

Doing something wrong on TV just means that the people who notice will spread the word, meaning more people will watch the show and go to the website, meaning they get more ad dollars. If you think they care about journalistic integrity, you're probably right, but if you think it's the pillar of their existence, you're dead wrong.

i used to never get g4, but since i got a new tv, i also upgraded to digital cable. i watched a few shows, including x-play, and thought they were all pretty shitty anyway. this just made it worse; at least for me. they wont be getting my viewing time. i'd much rather watch ign weekly, or listen to 1up.com podcasts. at least they know what they're talking about.
