Wait a minute...*checks* okay most definately female. Been playing for 2 years and I can A or B most 10s although my PA leaves much to be desired. I know maybe two or three girls who can actually play well (my one friend is just fucking amazing) which is surprising, as I would have figured that the majority of DDR players would be female. _________________

I'm a girl and around here I'm a veteran player, I've been playing since about 2001, when we had to import everything from Japan to play. But here in Colorado I'm one of the only decent female players. There are only like four of us who even play.... two of which I don't even think play anymore. It's sad out this way for girls. _________________

A bunch of my friends are girls (as am I) and we all love DDR. :3
A lot of times, when the arcade I go to still had their DDR machine, guys would be playing Light/Standard songs, and I would be the only Heavy player. e.e I have a ton of AAs on Heavy, and I don't do Standard as much as I used to. In fact, a lot of Standard songs I thought used to be impossible to score high on I can SDG now... 8DDDD
And I actually got my first Heavy AAA today. :0 _________________

At the end of the day, a competitive player is a competitive player, whether or not they're a guy or a girl. I respect and truly admire people like Flotastic, JOKR, and hurtpiggypig because of their committment to such a male-dominated game. There are a lot of girls out there who can do 9's and 10's and whatnot, but I treat girls exactly the same as guys: boobs or not, if you're not harboring a 96+% DP or close to it (and that's a very, very, very generous number there, depends on a lot of things of course), you wouldn't stand a chance in any serious tournament, and to me, you're not "good". It's great if you're playing and trying to get good, but if you want to be respected on any competitive level, you have to play as well as the guys. And if you don't have a vague comprehension or what you need in terms of song scores in DDR/ITG to be "good" in a competitive sense, guy or girl, then most probably you lack the skill to ever be a presence in a tournament.
If I only aspired to be the best girl in my sphere of influence, I would've quit back in 2002. |

There are no good girl DDR players in Minnesota...B's on 9's at very best. I know good girl DDR players, of course...I've just never played one. Or seen one. _________________

This is about the only thing that keeps me from wanting to improve on ITG. I honestly don't want to be caught up in the "If you ain't Fantastic, you're last!" mentality I see so much.
That about sums up my level of DDR/ITG; I can pass a few 10's and any 9, but I don't stress on getting streams of flamboyant Fantastics. I could probably work up to that point ( or pass more 10's, for that matter ), but I don't. Most of the reason is not having any sort of competetive drive with people around my skill level. The guys at my arcade that 97%+ 12's and 13's just make me feel uncomfortable, and don't offer advice or anything. Like anyone offers advice on dance games. >_>;
I've never seen another girl play at or above my skill level either; or another girl at that arcade, for that matter.
. . um. Yeah. Did I mention I'm a girl? |

I'm a female DDR player, although I'm not the best ever I've seen some who are really good like barefoot heavy, and dark mode...That was a long time ago and she said she's been playing for three months and is on heavy..Lol it takes me a little longer but that's not a bad thing _________________

so please make a point of saying that because i'm good it doesn't hinder you BECAUSE i'm a girl, but just because generally people are really really good. not that uh i'm good and a girl.
that's the mentality that EVERYONE has. people play for fun AND more specifically to get good. it's not that you're last, it's just that you're constantly striving to get better.
what was the point of mentioning a) that you have never seen a girl better than you, and b) that "hey look i'm a girl look at my opinion"? it's STUPID.
christ. just act like everyone else and play the goddamn game because you like it, not to get attention because you have a vagina. >
see this score is amazing. REGARDLESS of whether or not i'm a girl. geeeeez. |

I'm a girl. I play DDR, mainly on Standard, I can only do a few songs on heavy, but I practice quite a lot, so that counts for something, eh? _________________
