What is the quickest, most effective way for training stamina.
And also, what is the easiest way to get used to playing with the bar...with the bar, crossovers are hard for me. Even the beginning of destiny is harder with the bar... _________________

play no more often than every three days or so. maybe every other day if you really want to, but dont keep that up for that long. you can work up to playing more often though.
eat well. drink water.
dont just play songs you cant pass, or ones that you can easily do. you want to sit near the edge of your limit. if you just recently passed hardcore of the north, for instance, youll want to play that, tell, and other songs that you can DO, but are still tiring.
and dont just play sets of them. work up to it. a set of a 9, 10, then 12 is much more effective than three 12s. or three 9s for that matter.
i also reccomend edits. they dont have to be ridiculously hard, but sightreading an 11 or two is slightly more beneficial than playing a few 11s you already know. if you play them right that is. normally, people get into a rhythm of a chart, and know where things are, what they have to conserve for. but when you never really know whats coming next, you should play a little more focused, and its more draining to play that way as well. draining in a good way.
i have more. maybe ill write a bit more later. _________________

I'm going to re-emphasize this as far as arrowsmashing in general goes. I've been dehydrated to the point of needing fluid through an IV (It was unrelated to DDR/ITG), and it was honestly one of the scariest experiences of my life. For the love of Christ, keep yourself hydrated. _________________

Once again about the water.
Don't go choosing an energry drink or a pop over water.
Water will help you more than any Monster or crap like that.
Water, water, water, water. |

Unless you had two hours of sleep before a tournament, then its always good to use a monster, and then get stupid pad errors three fucking times in a row on D-Code. I love playing Dukamok in tournaments _________________

Heavy (Skater) shoes helped me for a while. Play with them for about two months, then go with a lighter shoe. The new Free's seem to do well. Or just about any sprinter shoe. |
i dont agree with these sentiments
playing with ankle weights is like playing with ankle weights. its nothing like playing without them.
stamina as a quantitative amount is rather vague, whats more important in my mind is how you use that stamina. lets say player one has the "stamina level" that allows them to pass pandemonium once, and player 2 has the "stamina level" that allows them to pass it twice in a row. you would assume the second person had "better" stamina. thats as it may be during normal play, but player 1 has refined his playstyle, and has the ability to multiply that little stamina by conserving energy, and cutting his playstyle down without sacrificing score. so playing normally, player 1 could probably pass pandemonium once. but if he refines his playstyle correctly, he can pass it probably 10 times, wheras poor player 2 is stuck playing only how he knows how to play, and cant stretch the "stamina" he has any longer than those two rounds.
so what ankle weights do is force you to change the balance of your feet, it changes what it feels like. the same for shoes. it changes how you must move your feet in order to hit the panels. so yes, as an excercise in learning how to adapt your fine foot control, different shoes would probably help. but as far as raw stamina is concerned, it does almost nothing.
i reccomend working on refining playstyle more than building stamina. to build enough stamina to pass pandemonium several times in a row can take months of concerted effort and training. refining your playstyle, on the other hand, can catapult you from a failing score to a 90% practically overnight. _________________

I recommend sprinting for a mile every day. Until you get it under 5:00 you fail. _________________
