Of course they want to scare customers away. And just so you know, stock images always look better then the product itself. So if this is the stock picture, just imagine the real thing. Wait, instead, don't. You might get nightmares. |

I'm supposed to be getting a BlueShark 2nd edition (pictured above) as well as a Nexen pad in the near future. I already have a Cobalt Flux and an RO Afterburner, and I'll be making a comparison review of the four pads.
I'm assuming a new pad will come fully assembled without the discoloring, so I'm guessing this was some type of mock-up/prototype that wasn't made with entirely clean materials. |

Wow, that looks very poorly made.
They could have made a better stock photo so it would look good, and actually want to make people buy one. |

I hear that the official PIU foampad is good, why not get one of them? Also, if you have a cobalt flux and a USB adapter, you could take out the cardboard in the middle of the pad and configure it to work with StepMania. |

Holy cow, you mean this one: Pump it Up Metal Pad? Dang, that makes me less than optimistic, to say the least, about their Nexen DDR pad. I haven't read any reviews on the DDR one yet, but the Nexen pad and and the metal PIU pad are similar in construction. If the PIU one dies after 2 songs, I think there's a good chance the DDR version will be similarly bad. |

What fair judgement
I have a Solomode 2200 pad, and so far, not a single problem AAing my favorite heavy songs and improving on the MAX/MaxX series (or moving on to Expert 10s/11s+ in In the Groove). Yeah they may have bad products from time to time, or products that have problems, but then again, who doesn't? Cobalt Flux is not completely infalliable to error, and certainly not RedOctain with their Afterburner pad problems or complaints, it is certainly not nessecarily fair to compare MyMyBox to like the manufacturers of the craptastic older TX model pads. Hell, I don't even know if I have ever seen a review of any MyMyBox pads on a slightly unrelated note. _________________

To be fair, I don't think Mymybox makes that one. The ones at Mymybox say "Dance Performance" in the middle, and Topway makes their pads under the Dance Performance name. Not sure if that confirms them as manufacturer, but it wouldn't surprise me. If I had to guess, I'd say MMB just sells the plastic button pad. They don't have anything to do with its manufacture.
Hey Travelsonic, how long have you had the Solomode 2200? I'm kinda thinking about picking up DDR/ITG at home again and am currently trying to looking at the BNS DX foam pads, a CF, or potentially the 2200 if it's a fairly durable pad. |

I wouldn't trust Mymybox. I've heard that sometimes you will get a good one, and sometimes you get a bad one. And if you get a bad one, your doomed, as they have some of the worst customer service I've ever heard of |

I have a solomode 1100 pad and so far, not a single problem. I recently sold it to my friend to buy a their new blueshark metal pad. The only problem that I had was thier arrow. After playing for about an year, one of the arrow got crack. I contact mymybox and mymybox customer service representative reponse to me in less than 1 hour. I even asked several question regarding thier solomode 2200 and blueshark metal pad. I think mymybox customer service is way better than RedOctane or other companies that I deal with. So Far, I am very happy with mymybox products and their service.
I also talked to my friends and people who went to this year E3 show, they told me that mymybox's new blueshark metal pad is way better than CobaltFlux not only on performance, but also structure and feeling. I am just waiting for someone's review on blueshark metal pad so that I can make a decision whether I should buy a solomode 2200 or blueshark metal pad. |

if the blueshark metal pad is dirty and not clean, I would re consider buying a blueshark metal pad instead of solomode 2200. solomode 2200 picture is alot better than blueshark metal pad. However, what I have heard is that blueshark metal pad quality and performance is the best on the market so far according to the people who played on both Afterburner, CobaltFlux and BlueShark metal pad. I am not sure about the nexen since I have not heard about it.
Hey Travelsonic how is the your solomode 2200? is it good?
Hey Vesper when can I see your comparison review of the four pads?

My Solomode 2200:
I have had my Solomode 2200 for almost 3 months now and have done nothing but subject it to Heavy/Oni/Hard/Expert DDR/ITG songs. So far, it has held up magnificantly.
|-------------ARRIVAL AND ASSEMBLY----------------|
My pad came in slightly dinged, which I think can be attributed to slightly bad handling on the ground shipping, but once I got it, I instantly began unpacking and assembling it (putting on the bar ). For one, there is A LOT of that blue film to remove, a real pain too - I unscrewed every panel and bracket to get it all off the playing area using the accompanying screwdriver. After re-screwing everything in, it was time to get the metal bar in place. To put it in, you have to first slid the bar into position, then turn the pad on it's side and install 2 bolts with the accompanying socket wrench. Not terrifically hard.
I will be frank though, if you want to be 100% sure this pad will work once you have it, check the pad thouroghly. Make sure the wooden corners below the brakets are in place and secured properly and the wiring outside of the pad is secure so if you do step on the connection to the control box by accident while moving it, you will not accidentally disconnect any buttons. I did have some things break on this pad, but it was all my fault and easily fixed.
|-------------Gameplay----------------|
The arrows work great - sensativity is good and I had no problem (after overcoming the extra shoe weight - I did eventually though end up playing in my very old kid pool shoes - tight but lighter and will not do as much wear and tear as sneakers) playing to the best of my ability. The metal bar however wobbles a bit, and needs re-enforcement. Prehaps I will do that to my pad once I order a bar handgrip from channelbeat and repaint my metal bar as part of my pad modding project.
Overall so far, this pad has held up quite well. I do recomend it if you can't get a Cobalt Flux or Blueshark pad (which IMO, sounds awsome). If you take care, take precautions to ensure it works, and are handy in case something breaks/you accidentally break something, it should be just fine.
Although to get the pad more arcade like, modding always helps. _________________
