I was there last Saturday, but I'm a girl and I'm not Japanese (although some of my friends say I look asian).

Well, I suppose wasn't you, then. The guy was very impressive to watch, but unfortunately he clearly wasn't female.

I guess that's a popular thing to do around there, then? I just drove over from a nearby state to see the ITG2 machine, but I enjoyed getting in a couple games of DMX while I was there.

well, as far as I know, I'm the only one who does it. I might know who you're talking about though. DMX is the closest thing some people have to PPP, so I suppose there are Paralists that go to FnG.

I used to live in Tulsa, but I moved to Bartlesville (60 miles north of Tulsa), so I just commute every Tuesday and Saturday to play there. But, lucky me, I have DVDs and VCDs....

Anyways, I think I'm a little off topic...

Only because their only under the same company, and because they have dancing involved. E15.gif Otherwise, ParaParaParadise cannot be given its name with out ParaPara, which is why I think routines are crucial. And DMX kinda lacks routine.

Speaking of which, how oxymoronic is "Japanese made Eurobeat/Europop" (Off the sign for DMX 2 Append Mix Jparadise, or whatever it's called)? I mean, I know some people say that Eurobeat now includes some Japanese made music, but I mean.... EUROBEAT.... emphasis on Euro. Why J-euro? Why not.... J-beat? actually, that kinda sounds like rap....

It cant be jbeat because the genre is EUROBEAT and J-Euro is that genre of music made by japanese.

I know that, but ... still... euro to me just implies that it should pertain to Europe... but I'm just crazy.

Thank you so much for the stepmania hack. What a beautiful thing it is. I can't wait for MAME to come out with ppp and ppp 2nd mix. . . Arcade style para!!!
As far as stepmania goes i noticed that on "jumps" the para controller or keyboard wont recognize a hit if you only hit one of the two. In the arcades i know it will recognize the one you hit. It there any way to enable this feature?
Secondly in the arcade when you are holding your arm over a sensor if an arrow comes up it will recognize it as being "good". Stepmania counts it as a miss. It there any way to enable this in stepmania?

Mame ain't gonna bring us Para Para unless someone can crack the security on the Firebeat hardware... and if that happens, I'm sure that more people will be interested in dumping roms of Pop'n music than PPP riiight.gif

And as far as making stepmania work more like the arcade version of ppp? Is that impossible at this point? The only reason is in the arcade its easy to full combo a song like boom boom fire but on stepmania its nearly impossible just to pass.

I have a question about the measurements of a PPP machine.
For the actual cabinet (No stage), I wish to know how deep it is, in inches, the side of the machine. If you where to look at the side of the machine, how wide is it?

Im going to *HOPEFULLY* get a machine to hold on to for a friend. How do I care for the sensors?

EDIT: PPPDX does exist....And I want to see it in person, even know ONE exists...

Only one PPP DX machine exists and it was for promotionally purposes only. It was made around the time of 1st Mix and it was used by the PPA to demostrate para para. The dancers in the photo are Tomomi, Miho and Maki. You will not find this available anywhere at all. What I would like to see though if the beta song list for PPP3's location test.

[quote="
Yes, freestyle is fun, but the whole POINT of para para paradise is to learn para para routines.

im sure it's fun to learn routines but what's the point of just copying other peoples routines? why not make up your own? i mean, is para para dancing all about copying other peoples routines?
[/quote]

You really have to play freestyle Hard, at high speed.
The moves don't match the figure on the screen
so you pretty much have to invent your own dance sequence.
Oh and for extra fun, try doing freestyle hard with just one arm.

You might be really sore after 4 songs...

Got a factory sealed controller and game (jap. version; looks like it came from play-asia) for the DC.
But it's not working and I don't know why.
[EDIT]: Please ignore me - After I changed the RGB- to a regular AV-Cable it worked fine.

Sorry for bumping up this topic, but how exactly do you play Para Para Paradise?

I think you have to put your hands over these sensors, but I'm not exactly sure.
