I don't know how far modding discussion is allowed here and i'm fairly positive you can't discuss ITG hacking even though I have extensive knowlege on both.
Maybe you should PM someone who knows this kind of stuff _________________

you can't play the official stepmania on a ps2. The closest you can get is "repacked" ITG....which supposedly isnt allowed on most ddr/itg boards...but theres a thread on how to do it in the ITG section. _________________

You're kidding, right?
1) Even if you download the PS2 Linux DVDs, you wouldn't have any way to install it unless you modded your PS2. Secondly, you need a hard drive and a dedicated PS2 memory card for it (Otherwise the Linux installer completely erases your card). On top of that, even if you did get Linux installed and running, you'd need a special branch of StepMania coded SPECIFICALLY for the PS2. It's one thing to port code to and from Windows and Linux. It's a completely new thing to change a PLATFORM. The PS2 uses a completely different architecture, and NO ONE is going to recode StepMania from scratch just so you can play it on your Linux.
2) How is S-Video output on a video card going to help you? How is video output from your PC going to help you play StepMania on your PS2? Why don't you just get a video card and hook that to your TV? Or is that what you meant? |
