I'm getting a bit aggravated...I ordered my CF about a month ago and every time I check the order status it says still being built. I figured I would have had the thing by now. _________________

I bought a used CF locally (shipping to Can is horrible, so no new) and it worked for a few months before the control box died. It worked pretty good under Xbox as well with the Inex adapter.
But following MadFlava's tutorial (pg 52 with a link to CF forum) I bought the TX4000 for less than 20 bucks from Hong Kong, 30 mins of soldering (I just cut the wires and spliced them together rather than deal with tiny pins) and it's great. No lag at all, control box is plugged into both the PS2 and the Xbox at the same time, all the time. If you have both ps2/xbox this is a great mod. So thanks for that!
And I play on firm carpet, no issues. Really poofy shag or something might be trouble...

Wait, how can you plug an xbox TX4000 control box into a CF pad? |
Check page 52, has the links. You just cut the wire and switch the individual colors according to the chart. If you have a newer CF pad with the 3 rows of pins, you cut a standard monitor cable and hook the colors according to the chart. Really easy, and I am getting no missed hits now. Did I mention Xbox + PS2 as well? So pleased!

How exactly is shipping to Canada horrible?
It's $46.00 or $48.00 a pad. I can't remember which.
That's not overpriced or anything for something that weighs 45 pounds. |

Right, but then there's brokerage fees, GST and duty. It's so bad that if a vendor send UPS, I refuse it. Like a pair of shocks which were about 150 bucks + 30 or so shipping had 70 dollars US in extra "fees". A single headlight got shipped and they used UPS by accident, the fees were higher than the cost of the light, plus the shipping itself.
Sending via USPS is the best, but it's still more than you think. FedEx is bad, UPS is death.
I think the guy that I bought my CF from said it was 600 cdn total, but that was with worse exchange rates.

To anyone who recently ordered or who is considering ordering a Cobalt Flux pad, here are a few heads up's you should consider first. Posting here to hopefully reach a wider group and also because anything deemed too negative towards CF, regardless of whether or not its true, is censored on their forums.
Part of this info. comes first hand, the rest from others I have spoken with. So for the past couple months (as best I can tell, beginning in early to mid July) there have been order delays with CF, ranging from a couple weeks to eight weeks and still counting. In some cases the delays have been combined with only partial orders being sent out.
More importantly, at the very best, there are major miscommunication issues over at CF and at the worst, alot of just plain old lying going on. Many e-mails sent to inquire about the delays are simply ignored. The ones that get answered give conflicting accounts for the delays and also incorrectly say that things have shipped that haven't. Same for phone calls placed directly to the company. While CF is a small company and some delays are unavoidable, this sort of misleading isn't explained away by those facts.
The current state of things, again as best as I can tell, is that some people have recieved their orders now and didn't have further issues. On the other end of the spectrum, many people (including myself) haven't recieved their order, or a correct full order, and are still being mislead (I don't know whether intentionally or not) by CF people.
So to summarize, at the least there are order and communication problems going on with CF now. For people considering ordering from CF, I'd recommend looking elsewhere for a pad, getting a CF pad off ebay, or waiting a few months and seeing if CF gets things together. For people who have already ordered from CF and are having order issues, I'd try sending an e-mail/phone call first. If you can't get an adequate response that way you can file a complaint here:
https://saltlake.ebindr.com/complaint/new/22004822
The above will guarentee you a response at least and also maybe encourage CF to get things together. |

Ah good...I have been having quite a bit of trouble as well.
I ordered my pad on July 14th and exactly a month later it supposedly shipped. My mom's credit card was billed and everything and 2 weeks later, still no pad. I called FedEx to see what was up and they said that they did not have an item with that tracking number. Either I was given the wrong tracking number, or I just got ripped off for about $400.
Suffice it to say, I am very pissed off. Anybody know the telephone number I can contact them at? _________________

Ryudori, the number is 801-264-1808. (most likely long distance for you, but that's the only number they have posted) The woman I spoke with at that number after trying a few times since no one was answering, was polite but not all that helpful.
As to your order, CF lists things as "shipped" when they have not shipped and are often not even ready to ship. Once Fedex says "Picked-up" on their (the fedex) website you will know your package is actually on the way, but until then your order is still with CF. |

I dunno about shipping and orders, I do seem to recall a control box that I ordered that took like a month to show up though. But besides the slow delivery and all that I highly recommend these pads if you are seriously interested in improving your performance. I have had my CF pads for 2 years and they are more sensitive than the arcade machines, do not have the annoying inset buttons (although you can get arcade style attachments to replicate this), and they can take a beating for years with no sign of damage or loss of sensitivity. The one and only downside to these pads is that the edges are sharp and accidentally slipping off the pad can suck if youre not playing with shoes on. Also, Pump It Up: Exceed can not be played with these pads because there is no middle button and the L and R buttons that are required to play pump are not even included on the pad. One last note is that if you have two of these pads and a doubles bar, do not leave the two pads connected with the bar unless you are playing doubles because the holes will wear out and the bar will come loose. I drilled new holes in my bar and it works ok for now but I'll probably end up having to order a new one some day. _________________

My order went in on the 3d of september it was being built for one days pending for another and then shipped on the third although the tracking number isnt valid yet with fedex but your supposed to give them 24 hours which isnt up for another 6 or so hours. although people have complained so far that there tracking status has said data reviexed for like 3 weeks and they still havnt actually started shipping it with fedex although i would think this would be due the cbox shortage that just ended
So basicalyl to sum it up they had a slump in speed for awhile but right now there pumping them out super fast only 3 days for mine ! w00t very happy glad i chose CF and not the Afterburner which i so wrongly was in love with _________________

Even though their customer service sucks, where else are you going to get a Cobalt Flux pad? All of the ones on eBay are used and I wouldn't buy a used one. I'm going to have to deal with the service. |

I've been trying to get my order filled with CF for 2 months now and counting. They lie to you constantly (or either the customer service has no idea what is going on and you might as well ask a magic 8-ball for an order status update). By far the worst company I've ever dealt with on the internet or in person.
On the other hand, Darkcore is right, if you want a flux you have to roll the dice and hope you get lucky with CF. The flux's are the best non-homemade pads out there to my knowledge, even though they are far from perfect and not worth the cost, they are the best you can do unless you can build your own pad.
Someone needs to get some competition going with a new, better company. I recommend the name "Blue Change". |

Saying that they are the best is just an opinion. They are extremely durable, but they don't give you an arcade feel. That's the reason why some people are buying the 2006 model of the MyMyBox Blueshark. It's $300.00 including a 6 month warranty, and it's supposed to give you a genuine arcade feel. (Not too sure if it does because I have never played on one.) |

Get an alternative pad.
I just ordered a pair of tx4000 for 261 shipped.
I'd rather do that than buy 1 cf and have my account on file and RECEIVE NOTHING. No reply, no pad, nothing. |
