elementxero wrote: | Well I just bought one, so I'll post a review when it arrives. I was hesitant to order from BNS after I wasted 2 bills on the ABORTION that they called a metal pad. But this pad looks decent and its not too expensive so I went for it. |
looks like BNS updated their site and has the new DX pads (looks like they got a new DX sparkle pad, seems like a lady's version of the same fusion pad) on their front page.
any new word on how well the new pads work elementxero.
I may pick up a sencondary pad in another month or 2, just wanted to know if they are still good. |

i think the sparkle version looks a lot sexier than the fusion. Assuming it has USB and xbox and is the same price, i will DEFINITELY get it instead. I like it because it actually looks different from the typical DDR pad. _________________

Firstly, I play with socks. Just like to get that out there, I know some people play on soft pads with shoes, I think that is just stupid. No matter what, soft pads will never be able to handle shoes without aquiring rips/etc.
I just got it today, and did I nice test run on my computer's USB connection. Everything went flawlessly. No pad misses, no lag, nothing. I am suprised it is this good, I never knew soft pads could be this good and responsive.
The raisef buttons are a good thing, too. I played on my friend's little brother's Ignition 3.0, and the buttons were raised up a little too high for my liking. The ones on the BNS are just perfect.
The pad came with 3 parts (8 items total)
-Pad Base
-3 dense foam inserts (ddr pad = 3x3 squares, these = 3x1 rectangles)
-4 of those small sticky circle things that prevent pad sliding (I don't think they're needed).
I don't have pictures yet, but what I found different was how the arrows had the raised area. Here is an image I found and edited to show this...
inside the green stroke is where the raised foam is. it's different, but it isn't noticable at all once you start playing.
going back to the sensitivity, this pad is sooooo amazing. i hope it stays this way for the long run, i'll keep you guys updated or something. for $60, it was a great investment. no more cheap cracked plexiglass to deal with _________________

Cool! I might buy this, because I need a new foam pad, but i'm concerned with its durability. Anyone have an idea of how durable it is? And the site is worded a bit weird, do I need to buy an XBox adapter too? _________________

My Ignition 3.0 is finally crapping out after a year. Bought it in July/August of last year after my 2.0 was becoming bad. I don't have the money for a metal pad at the moment, so I plan on getting an Extreme Fusin (the $60 one) fairly soon.
Just remember:

sounds amazing. looks like they designed a pad even better than their long lost original DX pads (which I had for near 2 hears before I went to metal pad).
koffan:
i think the Xbox adapter is built in, and no additional adapter is needed for USB or Xbox from what it seems. your best off calling them to verify though.
as far as durability, only time can tell, but if this thing is comprable in quality to their original DX pads, then it should last a very long time. |

Do you think this would be a good investment for someone who lives in Australia? I've given up on my ignitions - my friends took them away for a reasonable price;; although I have plans for my piso pad, I'd still like something like this to play on - too bad cobalt flux doesn't ship to Australia.
I think I'll wait a few weeks to see if there are any problems with this foam pad. |

I'm on the verge of buying one of these after having gone through FOUR (you read right) RedOctane Ignition 3.0's at Best Buy over a span of about four weeks! The quality control at RedOctane must be terrible.
I wanted to check with any BNS owners if they've encountered any problems at all with their pads before I take the plunge. The RedOctane's cost $90 at Best Buy. The BNSs will cost $75 with local shipping.
After this horrible experience with RedOctane, I'm really wary about the pads. _________________

BNS pads are comparatively durable. I would get the BNS pad. And the RedOctane pads are bad not because foam insert models in general are poor, just that RedOctane's are.
Sparkle? Looks exactly the same as the Fusion just with a pink color scheme. |

J-Pop, can you give us a review as soon as you get it?
After going through four RedOctane 3.0s, we tried Best Buy's house-brand ("React") but it's sensitivity is notably worse than the RedOctanes. _________________

yea it does. cute pad, too bad i'm a dude. I'll have to spruce it up with razors and empty beer bottles in order to justify dancing on the pad. it does look really good none the less. |
