i haven't used my TX-1000's in a couple weeks, and i brought them out to play with them this morning. they are in such poor condition i cannot play with them.

here are the problems with each respective pad:

pad #1 - the foil on the right and down arrow is sticky on one part and it is gradually lifting off the foil part and onto the pad receptor thing on the bottom. i tried scraping it all off, but it's still sticky on either side and there is some residue i can't lift off the arrows. thus, the two arrows still do not respond.

pad #2 - the cord coming out of the pad to the xbox is damaged at the beginning. right when the cord exits the pad, the cord is cut open and the wires inside are revealed. this disables the up and down arrows. i have to bend the cord in very strange positions to make both arrows work at the same time, and this only lasts for a few minutes as the pad shifts during gameplay. it's impossible to keep it bent in that position all the time.

i have no idea how to fix these. a lot of you seem to be able to make your TX-1000's work with no troubles with simple modifications, but i am not sure whether my pads are even repairable at this point.

if you have solutions please let me know, but if you think i should just buy something better, you can say that, too. i'd like to have a cobaltflux, but i don't know how to make cboxes (i have an xbox). is it hard?

Fixing this will be easy. Throw the pads away and buy two CF's.

or give the pads to me so i can fix and use them =P

pad 1 - sheet metal mod your contacts

pad 2 - ugly problem...try replacing the wires or resoldering them, even if it requires you to take apart the pad

Can you link me to the sheet metal mod? And I'm not familiar with soldering, either. Just link me to something and I can figure it out. riiight.gif

Anyways, the CF pads really interest me if the pads end up being in disrepair, but the instructions on how to make a plugin for a TX4000 kind of confuse me. can i make it so it goes CF > TX4000 box > xbox?

Thanks for the metal sheet mod. What about soldering? Will electrical tape work?

You really got to stop this poopy. Every frick topic you post on this fourm is 'go buy a CF.' I know you are 13 and I BET you don't have a CF. Not everyone can shell out 350 dollars (after shipping), so frick off...

Not a problem.
