This J-rocker was playing DDR. She was with some white guy. So after she finished ,I went on the machine and started playing when all of a sudden she starts shadowing me. Then she starts talking to me saying how the mat is slippery and stuff and I said "I know". Then she gave me a pat on the back then I went on to play the next song while she continued to shadow me. After the game she was just like "I'm half dead now wow, yeah, that mat is slippery". She was saying that while I was walking away and saying "i know" I think she wanted me to talk to her more but I didn't because of that white guy. But after a while I was sure they weren't dating cause they weren't holding hands or anything but you never know. I STILL SHOULD HAVE TALKED TO HER =(
I'm regretting this as hell.

Also, what do you mean doesn't belong here? This has to do with DDR, it's not gaming tips, arcade info/console info, simulation info, a tournament, or having to do with ITG. Also it's not a regional thing. It does belong here.
Well umm...you should've asked if that was her boyfriend, if it wasn't...PURSUE YOUR INTERESTS FURTHER.

Yeah, I should have asked if that was her boyfriend. I'm too much of a dumbass to think that quick. Oh well, next time this happens again I'll be prepared  But I can't sleep now thinking about this and I have work tommorow.

Not tryin to be offensive or anything, but are you the typical "goof", I mean the kind of person that drools over a girl from a distance, too shy and stupid to realize that you might have some kind of potential if you stop sweating like a basset hound in heat in 110 degree weather?
If anything, the most that would have happened, is you would have talked about DDR, how long you both been playing, and other common interests....providing you didn't go dumb in the tongue and forget how to talk after 30 seconds of a conversation.
Anyways, no point in beating yourself over this one moment. There will be plenty of time if you still goto the same place to play DDR, that you'll run across this girl again.
Happens to the best of us, so into what we're doing can't think of really anything to say without sounding like a idiot or failing to impress someone we don't know.

It has more to do with 'omg a girl' than DDR.
Seriously, girls are people too. They're not some rare mythical things who, if they make any kind of contact with you at all, they want to bang your brains out. If a guy had shadowed you and patted you on the back, would you have made a 'ew, i think some guy fancies me' thread?

Kiriyama you seem like a cool dude. Here's some advise, if she comes back to the arcade. While you are they just talk to her about ddr interests and stay on track with the conversation as it develops. That's pretty much all you have to do. Also keep in mind a couple of things.
1. WOMEN ARE PEOPLE TOO
I see this happen all too often where guys are like, "OMGZ GRRLZ THEY HAV VAGEENAS!" No, this is the wrong approach. Talk to her like you would talk to anyone else.
2. DO NOT EXPECT "RELATIONS" FROM HER
Just becaused she acknowledged your existance doesn't mean she wants to play 2 player "Insertion" with you... and hopefully not doubles "Insertion" with you.  She may just want to be friends and that's all. If that is the case except it.
3. DO NOT STALK HER
This is pretty self-explainitory, but there is a slight variation. Do not think that doing SUPER EXTRA NICE THINGS FOR HER will win her over. You may appear creepy or stalker-esque to her.
Also only in a couple of countries around the world is misogyny widely accepted. In conclusion,
